Her choices are grim: hurtle through space to the red planet to face the unknown and possible death, or stay on Earth and face certain annihilation. To make things even more complicated, a certain gorgeous rogue seems to be shadowing her every move..."  ~ From Goodreads

Niina : Welcome to For The Love of Reading, Ms. Wyatt, I’m glad you could stop by!

Casey Wyatt : Thanks for my having me today!

Niina : Let’s get started! Can you tell my readers here 4 fun unknown facts about you so we can break the ice?

Casey : Okay. Remember you asked for it!

1. I gave birth to my youngest son on the bathroom floor. And before you ask, I went into labor and gave birth in the space of about twenty minutes. The kid couldn't wait!

2. I'm a life-long sci-fi/fantasy geek. I love Star Trek and Star Wars. Since I've attended two Trek conventions, if pressed to choose, I'd say I love Star Trek more.

3. I met my husband while working at a movie theater. I worked concessions and he was head projectionist. Yup, that was a cool part time job because I snagged me a husband!

4. I taught myself to knit and crochet, during the dark time, while I avoided being a writer. I love to make socks, gloves, scarves and amigurumi. In between books, I fall back to my yarn stash for a bit.

Niina : Cool! Tell us little about your novel  “The Undead Space Initiative”? With a name like that it’s bound to be interesting!

Casey : The Undead Space Initiative is a paranormal romance about a vampire stripper named Cherry Cordial. Cherry rescues a vampire hottie named Ian McDevitt from a gang of blood thirsty revenants and soon regrets it. When the vampire queen is murdered, she and Ian are the number one suspects. Her only choices are escape to Mars, where she has a chance to survive, or remain on Earth and die for sure.

The Undead Space Initiative is the name of the mission to colonize Mars. When you think about it, who better to found a space colony but the undead? They don’t need to eat, breathe or eat real food because they’re already dead! One of the things I love most about the book is Cherry. I had a friend describe her as sassy ass! And that fits her perfectly. Plus, she has a smokin’ hot love interest, English vampire Ian McDevitt who can go toe to toe with the snark mistress.

Niina : What made you want to write paranormal futuristic romance?

Casey : I didn’t set out to write a paranormal futuristic romance. Honestly, the idea hit me like a bolt of lightning. It literally landed in my lap and it was just too good to resist. Undead has been the most fun to write of all my books.

Niina : How did you find your cover and if you didn't take part in the search, what is your opinion of it?

Casey : My publisher provided the cover. It was created by Lex Valentine of Winterheart Designs. I absolutely love it. I filled out a form to give her an idea of what I liked and she did a fantastic job with it!

Niina : What are you working on right now? Can you give us a sneak peek?

Casey : I just completed a paranormal romance called Misfortune Cookie. I’m still in the process of editing this one.

Here is the blurb:

When Radiance Ashworth inherits the family fortune and a nasty supernatural curse, life as she knows it is over forever. Instead of luxurious pampering, she’s stuck chasing wayward spirits and sending them back to the Hereafter. Her new normal consists of ectoplasmic goo, bruises, and ruined clothes.

Fortunately, she doesn’t have to navigate the supernatural world alone. Luca, sexy, confident, and so damn tempting, is happy to guide her – if she’d only accept his help.  She quickly learns how much she needs his assistance just to stay alive, when a Jiang Shi – a vengeful Chinese spirit – starts systematically murdering the city’s elite businessmen. While the Jiang Shi proves to be a formidable opponent, Radiance finds the growing attraction between her and Luca to be even scarier.

And for you, because you asked, a taste:

“Somebody’s jealous,” I teased, pulling up my coat collar. The sun had gone down and chilled air tickled my neck.
“Am not,” Luca insisted, fists clenching and unclenching.
“Then how come you look like you want to hit something?” Or someone.
The limo glided up to the curb. Luca held open the door for me. He settled next to me, grumpiness practically oozing out of him. The car door thudded shut. He was on me in an instant. Large, gentle palms cupped my face. Broad thumbs stroked my cheeks. His focused gaze captured mine before rough, needy kisses landed on my cheeks and forehead.
Fire raced through my blood. Every fiber in me screamed – surrender.
“Let me kiss you,” he rasped, his warm breathe searing my skin.
Warmth flooded my body at his simple request. I throbbed. I ached. His lips trailed down the hollow of my throat.
“Luca,” I panted, trying to form a coherent thought. “Give me a minute—”
“No,” his tongue darted to the sensitive spot beneath my ear.
             Damn. That was good.
“Don’t think. Feel,” he pulled away, staring at me, gaze hooded. The timbre of his voice dragged a thousand tiny jolts of pleasure across my skin.
Well, when he put it that way…

Niina : Well indeed! ;) Sounds yummy! What makes you feel like you’re reading or have read a truly amazing book?

Casey : When I want to read it again immediately after I reach the end!

Niina : Now to more personal questions! What’s the biggest turn on in a guy, fictional or real life?

Casey : Passion, humor and kindness. I think handiness and attentiveness in a guy is sexy too. I love that my husband does the dishes after I cook and that he can whip out tools and fix things. Little things do matter, especially over the long haul.

Of course, in a fictional guy, I’m a sucker for a hot, sexy, ab-tastic alpha male who wants to lock me in his cave for a night of fun!

Niina : LOL! What’s the sexiest article of clothing on a guy?

Casey : Well-worn blue jeans.

Niina : What does it take to write a really hot love scene?

Casey : Horniness? Seriously, love scenes are one of those areas where I let the characters take over. I really don’t script them ahead of time at all. I just type and then look back at it and go “Damn. Get a room!”

Niina : Naughtiest book you’ve read?

Casey : I recently read Rough Surrender by Cari Silverwood. A BDSM novel that takes place in turn of the century Cairo! The book was hot and, to me, very naughty!

Niina : I know that one, just had steamy excerpt here few days ago, seriously naughty. ;) Which is sexier, tattoos or piercings on a guy?

Casey : Piercings. Although tattoos come in a close second. My hubby has tattoos, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t convince him to get a nipple piercing.

Niina : What is your guilty pleasure?

Casey :  Martial arts movies. I love them!

Niina : That's a good one! What’s on your nightstand?

Casey : I actually don’t have nightstand. Instead I have bookcase. But on that book case, besides stacks of books, I have a lamp, a clock, and my lucky troll that I got at Epcot Center. I also have a crocheted hamburger and crocheted amigurumi figures ( a Parisian cat and a skater dude bunny ) that I made.
