Patricia Green : Thank you for having me here, Niina! It's always a pleasure to make new friends.
Niina : True, true! Let’s get started! Can you tell my readers here 4 fun unknown facts about you so we can break the ice?
Patricia : I eat a Paleo/Primal diet. (Not a weight loss scheme, but a way of eating.)
I was an actress and model in my late teens and early 20s. Went to a lot of Hollywood parties. I've seen just about everything, in that regard.
I've been spanked more than a few times.
I worked for a large Renaissance Faire organization for 10 years, acting and directing about 300 people. That was a great job.
Niina : I've always wanted to go to one, they just don't have them in Helsinki that often. ;/ Tell us little about your Journey Series ( Spanking Good Romances ), what are the books about?
Patricia : The Journey Family series tells the stories of the Journey family from Texas. There are five siblings, their father, and their mother-substitute housekeeper. The siblings are all named after playing cards because their late mother was a professional poker player and named the children. So, there are Ace, Deuce, Queenie, Trey, and Jackie (3 men and 2 women). Each has his/her own book which can stand alone, or the series can be read in order, depending on what the reader prefers. The only book that depends on the others is the very last (6th) book, which ties together all the siblings and the future of their family ranch. The books are: Liv's Journey (which is Trey's story), Ace-High Flush (Ace's story), Spanking Her Highness (Queenie's story), Deuce's Dancer (Deuce's story), Jackie Draws a Straight (Jackie's story) and, finally, Journey's End (their father Leo's story). There is also a short story based on the Journey Family. It's "Journey In The Spring" and will be available on my website at mid-September. All the books feature spanking both for discipline and for eroticism. I find erotic spankings to be delicious.
Patricia : It's not as taboo as you might think. There's a strong Domestic Discipline movement in North America. Domestic Discipline, for the most part, is a pairing where the husband is considered the head-of-household and the woman subordinates her behavior to his decision-making. If she doesn't behave, she's spanked or made to stand in the corner or may have to write lines. This sounds a bit like a woman is treated like a recalcitrant child, but in the case of many of these families, the behavior is predicated on Biblical scripture or family tradition. The women are willing participants (like in my books), are often the instigators of the practice, and want to improve their behavior. The men take them in hand, and while no one is perfect, these couples believe that their personal lives are better when someone is in charge and the other party is subordinate. It works for a lot of people, myself included.
Of course, there is an erotic component to spanking. I get into that quite a bit in my books because, after all, they're erotic romances. But I think that kind of behavior is titillating to many people, and a whole lot of folks have tried it, even though they don't talk about it publicly. I think we'll be seeing a rise in the number of spanking and dominance-play books over the next two years. Certainly, I'll be putting them out!
Niina : Very true, I have few how-to reviews coming up too, and some reviews on your Journey series as well! Why did you decide to write Erotic Romance?
Patricia : Maybe I just can't shut up and close the bedroom door behind me. I get turned on by great sexual encounters where the two parties are wildly drawn to one another and can't quite stop themselves. I try not to get too gynecological in my books, and sometimes the language is slightly crude ( based on the characters' excitement levels and pillow-talk habits ), but Tab A fits in Slot B is an integral part of my work.
Niina : LOL! What character in the series did you most enjoyed writing and why?
Patricia : I get a lot of reader feedback about Ace Journey. He's the oldest of the Journey siblings and the most gets-dirty-on-the-job, works-hard-for-a-living, gentlemanly, and old-fashioned Journey. Like his brothers, he's a take-charge kinda guy who treats women with respect but expects the same in return. When he doesn't get it, or a woman acts up ( endangers herself, has crude language, is disrespectful, etc. ) she gets spanked. Ace also enjoys erotic spankings, is a little bit kinky and is dominant without labeling himself that way. He's into Domestic Discipline and is definitely the head of his household, while still respecting his semi-retired father who shares the ranch with him.
I am personally attracted to Ace in many ways. He's mature, sexy, good looking, and not afraid of hard work. He is a strong, capable guy who treats women well. And he's got sexy, Texas good looks and mannerisms. His drawl is to die for. He also has a way with the ladies, though he'd never admit to it.
Niina : How did you find your cover and if you didn't take part in the search, what is your opinion of it?
Patricia : All of my spanking books are published by Blushing Books, first as part of the Woodshed membership site, and then online to the general public through Blushing's retail outlet. Because they're published by a tradition-oriented epublisher, the covers are created by them. I have no say in them. That being said, I love them all and feel that they fit the contents of the books very well. They have wonderful cover artists and I'm lucky to be part of their author stable. The trailers are also created by Blushing, although I gave the graphic artist quite a bit of input. I'm thrilled with the two of them ( one for /The Strong, Silent Type/ and one for the Journey Family series ).
Niina : I you could only read 5 erotic romance novels for the rest of your life what would they be, and why?
#2 would be /Warrior's Woman/ by Johanna Lindsey (a lightly sci-fi romance with spanking).
#3 would be /Keeper of the Heart/ by Johanna Lindsay (the sequel to /Warrior's Woman)/.
#4 would be /Savage Thunder/ by Johanna Lindsay (a book about the old west and featuring Native Americans). and lastly, #5 would be /Hurt Me So Good/ by Joelly Sue Burkhart (an S&M romance).
Niina : What makes a hero sexy?
Patricia : Self-confidence, self-control and intelligence make a hero sexy to me. Looking good is secondary, but also appealing. When I write heroes, I give them confidence without too much arrogance, a strong sense of "self," and a somewhat randy side. In /The Strong, Silent Type/, for example, the hero, Drake Stillwater, is a contemporary Native American who's learned about bigotry first-hand, but he hasn't lost confidence in himself and makes his way in the world. When he falls in love with Mae Weston, although he's hesitant to open an inter-racial can of worms, he doesn't let that stop him for long because she appeals to him so strongly. He has a good sense of what makes for an abiding relationship and isn't afraid to implement what he feels is right.
Niina : Now to more personal questions! What’s the sexiest article of clothing on a guy?
Patricia : Well-fitting, lived-in jeans are very sexy.
Niina : Holla! What’s the biggest turn on in a guy, fictional or real life?
Patricia : His confidence ( not unfounded confidence ). Okay, more than that. I love strong biceps.
Niina : There we go, can't say I disagree. ;) What is your favorite guilty treat/pleasure?
Patricia : I really enjoy organic dark chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa butter (75-80% minimum).
Niina : What’s on your night stand?
Patricia : Boring stuff! An alarm clock, a bottle of water, a pencil and paper ( for those middle-of-the-night inspirations ), my lip balm and my iPad.
Niina : Before we finish, here are some Quick Fire Questions:
Pick-up or Mini-van? Pick up.
Boots or Heels? Heels.
Beer or Wine? Beer.
M&Ms: With or Without Peanuts? With peanuts.
Date: Going to Park or Going to Movies? Going to park with a sexy guy like my husband.
Men: Alpha-male or Submissive? Alpha, with a tendency to spank.
Men: Clean Shaven or Stubble? Stubble, even though it can be scratchy.
Men: Bad boys or Good guys? That's tough. I like a reformed rogue best, so bad guys would be my choice.
Tattoos or Piercings on a guy? Tattoos, if there has to be something. But I'm not into more than one.
Brunettes or Blonds? Brunettes.
Romance: Vampires or werewolves? Werewolves.
Romance: Fallen Angels or Sexy Demons? Fallen angels, far and away.
Romance: Cops or Cowboys? Cowboys. All the Journeys in the series have cowboy roots.
Romance or Erotic Romance? Erotic romance. I like sex!
( who says they don't, is a liar! ;) )
Male POV or Female POV (Point Of View)? I find writing the male POV to be more challenging and more fun.
Niina : Thanks for visiting the For The Love of Reading, Patricia! Any news would you like to share with your readers, or websites they can check out?
Patricia : The last two Journey Family books are available at The Woodshed ( http://www.herwoodshed.com ) which requires a membership, but if you're willing to wait, they'll also be out at Blushing Books ( http://www.blushingbooks.com ) in a few months. At that point all seven of my erotic spanking romances will be on sale at Blushing. I hope readers will make Patricia Green Spanking Romance part of their eLibrary.

Niina : Thank you for coming by! Hey ladies Patricia is here with a Giveaway which means, one lucky winner will get one of her Spanking Good Romances! Winner's choice ya'll!
What's a Spanking Good Romance?
"Domestic Discipline (spanking, time outs, etc.) is a traditional part of many relationships. This does not include abuse, but a loving and harmless remonstration when certain agreed upon unwanted behaviors occur. In my stories, this revolves around a dominant male and submissive (not subservient; there’s a difference) female. The only exception to this is one lesbian short story I wrote for inclusion in my lesbian anthology Four Part Hermony."
#1 - Comment about the interview ( more than "nice interview" would be appreciated ;) )
#2 - 9 - There are additional chances to win!
