Sometimes you know from the very beginning that you're going to love a book, and Rogue Rider started so great I was pumped to read every single bit of this book! Here you have a look too of Seph naked in the woods:
It was cold. So fucking cold. He opened his eyes, but he saw…nothing. Groaning, he shifted, because he seemed to be face-down. Yeah…he was doing a face-plant, all right. But where was he? All he could see was snow. No, that wasn't true; he could see trees laden with snow. And snow banks laden with snow. And snow laden with more fucking snow. So he was in a forest…with snow. But where? Why? And who the hell was he? Reseph. The name slurred through his ears as if uttered by a drunk man. Reseph. Sounded vaguely familiar, he supposed. Reseph. Okay, he could work with that. Especially since no other names popped into his head. Weakly, he tried to push himself to his knees, but his arms wobbled like rubber, and he kept falling on his face. After four tries, he gave up and just lay there, panting and shivering. Somewhere overhead, an owl hooted, and a few minutes later, a wolf howled into the growing darkness. Reseph took comfort in the sounds, because they meant he wasn't alone. Are you as giddy as I was to sink my teeth into more!? Not to mention... oh,ahem, better not go there... * clears throat * So, as mentioned above I was psyched to read all of this! I hadn't read the first three books in the series but that didn't deter me in any way, it was so good! And I think the amnesia plot helped as well. Both me and Seph were clueless of what was going on in the world and with him and his evil demon side.

Okay so by now you know I'm totally crushing on Reseph... I won't try to hide it, just never mind the cardboard cut-out in my closet. What was that? What closet?
The romance with Jillian and Reseph had the sweetness of a new start, redemption and peace for Seph who's demon had been causing near Apocalyptic destruction before his memory wipe. But to balance that out it was incredibly hot and sexy the way these two had chemistry! Also Jillian was an absolutely joy to read, smart, confident and putting breaks on Seph's advances. Very entertaining!
I always find it hard to review my absolutely favorites as I just wanna gush how great it was, how hot the guy, how sassy the girl and how hot the romance! Rogue Rider got all of that and more. Enough of me loving this book and more of me moving my ass to find the previous three books!

Why we fall for bad boys
Because we are women, bad boys are a must. Don't get us wrong, we love some good boys, but what is it about a bad boy we love so much?
Our thought is this... let's name our Han. Han is six foot two, jet black hair and bright blue eyes. His shirt is snuggle to his chest showing every ripple. Han drives a motorcycle and have a cigarette hanging from his mouth. A leather jacket swung over his shoulder as his stands next to his bike. Han makes everyone nervous and has a don't mess with me attitude. Now, we walk by and Han throws us a little wink. We automatically melt inside because this bad-ass has shown us some kind of attention.
Is it that we think in this wild crazy world, where he can have anything he wants, he made a connection with us? Now we are interested. What would make this man, who could have or do anything want us? This is of course is entirely our opinion, but its like we are now a special thing for this individual. We crave this attention... to be wanted and coveted by something so wild and out of control. Maybe it's because deep inside, we are really bad girls ourselves.

If you read my review on the 4th book earlier you know I gushed about these covers, love them! They set the mood for the book perfectly, it's bit dark and has the romance without the buff guy shot ( not that I don't love those as well! ;D ). I really do enjoy Lario's writing, its right up there with the best of them. It's fun, witty, hot and had the right amount of darkness, sadness and tension. And I love a book with tension to keep the chemistry just right! Mark Of The Sylph was great tale of romance, demons, tension and inevitable danger to bring the couple together and sealing the deal.
Maya and Taeg made the best couple, with the fighting and the banter and the scorching hot sex! I loved their chemistry ( and the kidnapping and the tied to the bed bit! ;) ), Taeg felt instant attraction, Maya felt instant hate, and watching much strong Taeg toy with Maya who could hold her own was the best form of couple foreplay! Also this is the first I got to know of the half-demon brothers and boy do they have things going for them, I love guys who act arrogant and snarky and yet completely fall for the girl and give her the whole world and the soft heart they had secretly nurtured the whole time just for her. Can't wait to read more of these books!
The only reason why I didn't give this book the full five stars was because while it was amazing it was slightly slow at parts that made me want to skip a little to get to where Maya and Taeg were the main focus, I could have lived without the enemy's chapters.
You'll love this if... you like your heroines strong in give a run for your money kind of way, and your heroes tough, strong in the will kick your ass six ways till Sunday kind of way - and love seeing them battle out while falling in love, when that's the last thing they should be doing.

Let's not forget the fact that all human women are like angel crack and being a nephilim she has an angel handler, which can't be good right? I mean she doesn't want to cause the fall of Eli.
This premise for this book is great! A kick ass chick, big sword, angel, demons and a thread hanging over her head. I think just based on the premise I waitied to get a little more from this book... I loved Tommy and was intrigued by Eli, the heroine wasn't complitely believable as a smart mouth, I think other traits of her character fought against it.
That said the plot was awesome, I really liked the idea of having to pay for the sins of their fathers, more pointedly if your baby daddy is a fallen angel addicted to human women and sex then your baby is gonna have to pay it's does and hunt daddy dearest down and well... off with his smarmy ass. I really liked it, the story was good, but I really hoped the characters woulkd have made just bit more sense, especially one characters death... I seriously went what as I read it I didn't want her/him to die so early, just when things had gotten interesting. Yes, it gave Emma Jane reason for revenge, but still...
I'm bit torn on how to grade this, I loved the plot, the story, but had slight, teeny tiny, trouble with Emma Jane's character. Well perhaps it's just me, and other will see Emma Jane is a total different light. :) I got to say I do want to read the sequel! Most definately!

Niina : Can you tell us why you decided to write Hellsbane and where is the series heading to??
Paige : I have always loved theology. The stories about angels and fallen angels both in the bible and in the Book of Enoch have always captivated me. I wanted to know what a nephilim (the offspring of an angel and human) would be like today. What would her life be like? How would her angelic father impact her life? How would Heaven and Hell treat her? So I wrote the story.
Emma and Eli will have some tough decisions to confront as the series continues and some major setbacks to overcome. Emma will finally have to face her father and the reality of what returning to “normal” life really means.
Niina : What part did you most enjoyed writing and why?
Paige : I really enjoyed writing the whole book, but if I had to pick—writing the scene where Eli and Emma skip around the world as Eli teaches Emma to travel using her new powers was fun. I enjoyed coming up with the destinations when time, money and physical limitations had no bearing.
Niina : Can you tell us three things about Emma that we didn't learn from the novel?
Paige : Emma graduated high school without ever being kissed. She drives a Jeep Wrangler because she loves the idea of driving without the roof, but she never takes it off because it’s too hard to get it back on. And she hates shopping so most of her wardrobe is kind of out dated.
Niina : LOL! What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?
Paige : I have to plot out the entire story before I start writing. I need to know what happens from beginning to end and everything in between. And I plot long hand. Each book has its own spiral notebook where I write out the major points for each chapter and character details and the overall story plot. I couldn’t write without those notebooks.
Niina : What is the biggest “no-no” when it comes to writing for you?
Paige : I cannot have the TV on when I write. I can’t help listening, even if it’s in the background, a part of my brain is processing the sound. If a part of my brain is in the real world processing (even a small part) then I can’t totally slip into the story world. And I need to be immersed in the story world when I write.
Niina : What book, if any, do you read over and over again?
Paige : I rarely read a book twice. Anne Rice’s Interview With a Vampire, Queen of the Dammed, and Lestat were ones I read twice. Those were the books that made me want to write my own stories. I think she is an amazing talent.
Niina : If you could only 2 read paranormal books for the rest of your life what would they be?
Paige : Interview with a Vampire, by Anne Rice, The Lord of the Rings, by Tolkien.
Niina : Would you rather meet real vampires or werewolves?
Paige : Werewolves. I love reading about the romantic vampires but no matter what they live off of blood and they’re just too fast and tricky. At least werewolves are still half human with needs I can understand.

Ah! This book, gorgeous debut! Chong writes beautifully, you can hear old classics like Earth Angel and Can't help falling in love, while you read the scenes where Julian takes her hand and takes her to the dance floor of the empty club. The story is achingly sweet with delicious scenes where Serena keeps dodging Julian's advances while they move around in Las Vegas.
This book has freshness of a new story but the golden shimmer of ol’ Sin City glamour.
Julian is so bad for her, but so right for her, it's wonderful, heartbreaking to read. Serena is so innocent it's almost sacrilege that he wants her, but then again you so want her to give in a little just to feel his light touch on her skin even once.
The end of the book - I loved it you can tell the author knows few things about spirituality, she studied yoga for years before making Serena a yoga instructor, and some eastern wisdom stuck. I loved reading the end as much as the whole book in total!
The music below sets the mood of this book to the t, especially Earth Angel and Unchained Melody... which I cannot stop listening to now, I just keep recycling these songs below on an endless loop to hold on to the feeling of the book.
Alexis is sixteen, about to start senior year in gorgeous old Weatherford Prepatory School, a building with history all the way back from the beginning of 1800’s. Alexis' history is newer she’s had a summer that she wishes had never happened, she had to defend herself which led to the death of her mother – now she is the outcast of her preppy, Chanel and D&G wearing school mates. Her boyfriend joined forces with Alexis' past friend and that betrayal still stings. But luckily she still has few friends, but it doesn’t change the fact that is now a heartless monster, even she can see that.
Every night she wakes up to nightmares, knowing they are more than just dreams, but it’s not clear what they are and what they mean. Nonetheless they are terrifying, someone is after her, every night.
The school has a new student and Alexis a new neighbor, the dark, tall and handsome Lucas doesn’t seem too concerned with Alexis' past, she worries what getting involved with Lucas might do to her heart as boys are trouble, and her heart cannot take any more pain. But Lucas seems to heal her and she smiles for the first time since her mother passes away.

But destiny has decided it’s not an easily life waiting for Alexis, her dreams get worse and visions begin and it becomes clear something horrible is going on, but is it just in her mind, is she going crazy or are the things she sees real, perhaps a horrible promise of the future to come?
Wonderful world of the old Weatherford Mansion, trees turning color, love blossoming and darkness creeping ever closer.
Thompson’s writing is a joy to read, in my opinion up there with the best YA I’ve read! Engaging, addictive, must-know-what-happens next! Alexis has grown up fast which makes her character interesting, but she still has her 16 year old attitude and embarrassments, sister troubles and eye for one special boy. Lucas is an “old soul” you can feel it right away even though cleverly Alexis makes him younger, Lucas definitely is the kinda boy who draws attention from high school girls and when he grows up the ladies as well.
The story is somewhat short, I wanted it to last longer, but luckily the second book in the Bloodlines Series Blood and Champagne is coming out in the near future!
Almost until the end you are kept guessing what is going on, you might know what is coming, how it’s going to turn out but the way she writes she doesn’t giveaway too much and the ending is definitely a surprise! Expect to feel a little sad, happy, blushing and heartbroken while you read Alexis’s story!
Definitely worth reading if you are into paranormal YA!

Nora Grey is sixteen she's school orientated and not looking for romance or a boyfriend, and as her best friend is replaced with Patch in biology seating chart things begin to get odd. Not to mention terrifying.
Dark and handsome Patch has an easy, wicked smile and seems to enjoy getting Nora in trouble and as flustered as possible, he's the epitome of a bad boy, he hangs out in the wrong part of town and seems to try and lure Nora to the dark side with him.
Patch ends up from being annoying, but irresistible to dangerous as Nora faces terrifying situations, stalking, attacks and situations that defy her sanity - and all leads seems to lead to Patch, who seems to always be where Nora is, to the point that it's flat out freaking her out.
Not to be scared witless Nora searches answers but find the truth is a lot scarier than what her mind could come up with. And it is not helpful that she beings to feel drawn to Patch and his wicked smile.
I stared at the trash can a moment, locked between disbelief and anger. Then I flipped open my notebook to a clean page. "What is your name?" I asked, pencil poised to write. I glanced up in time to catch another dark grin. This one seemed to dare me to pry anything out of him. "Your name?" I repeated, hoping it was my imagination that my voice faltered. "Call me Patch. I mean it. Call me." He winked when he said it, and I was pretty sure he was making fun of me. "What do you do in your leisure time?" I asked. "I don't have free time." "I'm assuming this assignment is graded, so do me a favor?" He leaned back in his seat, folding his arms behind his head. "What kind of favor?" I was pretty sure it was an innuendo, and I grappled for a way to change the subject. "Free time," he repeated thoughtfully. "I take pictures." I printed Photography on my paper. "I wasn't finished," he said. "I've got quite a collection going of an eZine columnist who believes there's truth in eating organic, who writes poetry in secret, and who shudders at the thought of having to choose between Stanford, Yale, and...what's that big one with the H?" I stared at him a moment, shaken by how dead on he was. I didn't get the feeling it was a lucky guess. He knew. And I wanted to know how -- right now.
"But you won't end up going to any of them."
"I won't?" I asked without thinking.
He hooked his fingers under the seat of my chair, dragging me closer to him. Not sure if I should scoot away and show fear, or do nothing and feign boredom, I chose the latter.
He said, "Even though you'd thrive at all three schools, you scorn them for being a cliché of achievement. Passing judgment is your third biggest weakness."
"And my second?" I said with quiet rage. Who was this guy? Was this some kind of disturbing joke?
"You don't know how to trust. I take that back. You trust -- just all the wrong people."
"And my first?" I demanded.
I have not enjoyed a YA book this much since Twilight! Hush, Hush is great, Nora and her best friend, Vee, are a good match and Patch is the perfect dark , leering bad boy, with a side so wicked it leaves the reader little disturbed but 100% intrigued. When you begin this book, it's almost a violent reaction when you have to set it down - because you just have to read a little more to know what is going to happen!
Expect to stay up late into the night with this!
This was also my first book in the Angel "genre" and I have to say I am hooked! Give me more sexy doomed and tortured fallen angels with a soft spot for their girl! There is just something about danger that makes butterflies flutter in your tummy, and make you swoon for that wicked suggestive smile.

Not voluntarily, mind you, Connor doesn't want to feel, he doesn't want to be drawn to Mariella, he is - in his mind - destined to be alone and liking that just fine, thank you. But it proves to be difficult when the hurt he's suffered is being healed just by the presence of an angel.
Mariella disobeyed for the third and final time and she gets the boot, her wings are stripped from her and she is found burned and bleeding by vampires, not her finest hour. She is desperate to return to heaven to be part of the beauty and the joy, not stay stuck in a new body which seems to go haywire when Connor is around. She won't let it stop her from searching her way to back to heaven, back to being an angel.
I liked this book, it was funny, romantic and innocent. I think what hindered me was I hadn't read any of the previous books in the series, and having one character after another pop by and feel familiar, but not knowing why (characters from previous 9 books) made it harder to stay with the flow. Also the plot was bit too fluffy and unfocused for me. But the story on its own was very warm, and had me laughing in more than just few places, proving Kerrylyn Sparks knows how to write witty comedy. The chemistry between the two main characters is fun to read!
Connor is quite flat as character, in a way that he is a crouch, he's very orientated to one single matter, but then again that plays well against Mariella who is so innocent it's hilarious to read, as she has never had a body everything is new, her feelings, eating... men. And that is the romance part, I would have not managed to read the whole book if their romance hadn't been constantly edged little bit forward.
Now this isn't what you'd call steamy romance, this is the kind that builds, sweetly, while we see just how much Connor actually longs and desires to be with her, while Mariella is slightly at disadvantage not knowing what desire and longing is. . . which makes the book yummy!
I love angel books, where the angels are sweet, and caring and do what they are meant to which is heal and care for humanity. Can't say I hate the other type, take Lassiter from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series for example, love him. ;)
In all a good book to read, if you aren't squeamish about a lot of Scottish accent (if you love Scottish accent I recommend you read Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series), kilts, and softie vampires. ;)
I might just have to find more 'Love at Stake' book! ;)
