Determined to greet death with the last of her dignity, she is suddenly rescued by a tall, gorgeous...wolf???

As the next alpha leader of his pack, Rafe Comyn has more than enough to handle with pack politics and precarious treaties. GUEST BLOG - A HERO TO THE RESCUE (SAVED BY MOONLIGHT) ( #GIVEAWAY )

A Hero to the Rescue
by Sarah Mäkelä

Some authors, readers, and reviewers tend to look for the Independent Woman capable of protecting herself and the hero, and I have to say I love stories were the heroine rescues the hero. They show that no matter who needs help that the other person in the relationship will risk their lives to help their loved ones.

However, I think there’s something innately sexy about having a man nearly feral with emotions to burst through the door to the rescue at just the right time. Hollywood does this really well, and the Taken movies are great examples. I’m not sure what I find most appealing about it. Maybe knowing it takes a guy who is very devoted to his family to behave in that way.

Of course, we've moved on from a time where women were put in the role of Damsel in Distress. If every story were written like that again, it’d get old, but the allure of having a hero who would lay down his life to protect his heroine... wow!

In Saved by Moonlight, the hero is a werewolf, which just adds that edge of his uncontrollable need to make sure his mate is safe. Werewolves are my favorite types of heroes, probably for that reason... and well, they’re werewolves! What’s not to love? They’re wild and yet loyal since wolves mate for life.

Thanks for having me here today, Niina!

Niina : It was great to have you come by anytime! I have to say the Uncontrollable Need to make sure their mate is safe is definitely why I enjoy Werewolf Romances as well. ;D

"A werewolf reveals what he is to save the love of his life...  When Sylvi comes home to find someone lurking in the apartment she shares with her boyfriend, she realizes her life is in danger. Lukas arrives in time to defend her from the intruder, but she's shocked to learn Lukas is really a werewolf! Can their love survive his revelation?"

Sylvi turned off the shower and dried herself. She wrapped the large bath towel around her then set off to grab the cordless phone from the living room. There weren't any flashing lights on the phone to indicate that Lukas had called. Disappointment fluttered in her chest before she shoved it away.
He probably had a busy schedule filled with meetings and schmoozing galore.
She headed for the bedroom and paused in the hallway, staring at the closed door. Had she closed it this morning? Lukas couldn't be here since he would have come out to greet her. However, he wouldn't close the bedroom door either. They had no reason to.
She chewed on her lower lip and looked down at the phone. Her thumb hovered over the number nine. Should she call the police? What if no one was there? What if she'd had a strange memory lapse? She'd look like an idiot.
Stop acting like a child, she scolded herself.
Taking a deep breath, she jerked the door open and flipped on the light. Her gaze raked the room. It was decorated in delicate shades of blue and white. She and Lukas had done this together, as a team. The memory brought a smile to her face. Until she saw him...
Demetrius stood by the window overlooking the street, staring into the rainy night. She knew it was him by his overwhelmingly muscular build and shoulder-length brown hair. How had he found her after all these years? They'd experienced a short, wild rendezvous before she'd come to Florida, but it was so over!
"What are you doing here?" Her voice shook slightly. He turned to face her, and she stepped back toward the door.
Tension rose and filled the air.
"Hello to you, too." He stalked over to the bed. His hands splayed over the blue velvet comforter.          "Mmm... Soft. You certainly do have superb taste." The bed groaned under his weight as he crawled onto the mattress and stared at her.
"What do you want?" Sylvi shivered and pressed herself against the doorframe. She had to get out of here. There was no telling what he'd do, especially with her being so vulnerable.
Demetrius licked his lips and ran his gaze over her as if willing her towel away. "You."
"That's too bad because --" Sylvi's words cut off as Demetrius jumped at her in a graceful leap.
He closed the distance between them like a predator. "You were saying?" A smug grin caressed his lips.
"I was trying to say I have a boyfriend." She took a step into the hallway, but he grabbed her upper arm and pulled her against his chest. She was five foot five inches, and yet the top of her head barely reached his shoulder. Even when they'd lusted after each other, his towering stature had intimidated her.
"I don't see anyone else here." He glanced around the room pointedly.
She shivered, but not entirely from the cool air conditioning. Tendrils of fear chased down her spine.

REVIEW - COLLARED FOR THE NIGHT

Title: Collared for a Night
Author: Susan Arden
Genre: Erotic Paranormal
Publication Date: July 22, 2013
Event organized by: Literati Author Services

"All it takes is one mistake to be marked. One bite, she crosses a line...into forever.

Diana Hambre's body is blazing. For days this leopardess shifter has spun through a body-searing heat cycle. Alone. Her senses reel when Shawn Barclay, her boss, walks into her reserved room at the Downtown Den, a stud club for shifters. He gives Diana a choice: spend the evening with him, give into his every desire, and she'll find out what it means to quench her heat-crazed thirst—or try her luck with a stranger, one of the club bangers.

Shawn hates when his back is against the wall. One sip of Diana’s pheromone-laced scent is enough to force his alpha hand. The tables have turned and it's Diana's back he wants up against a wall, or any other surface for that matter.

As the moon rises toward midnight, Shawn and Diana come to understand the difference between sex and bonding. For a night, neither of them resist their primal instincts, blindly giving into carnal desire. Her wild nature fights being subdued and she risks spontaneously shifting without warning.

Now, bearing Shawn's bite marks, she can’t simply walk away from him; not when he has the means to teach her to harness her leopardess nature. Shawn accepts the challenge of training Diana to control her untamed cravings. Employing every method available in and out of the bedroom, he discovers he's on the verge of ensnaring himself in the process."

Warning: Erotic scenes hot enough to peel paint.

Book Trailer

I seemed to be frustrated and delighted with this book. First I was annoyed when all Diana talked, breathed and thought about was her heat, for the longest time... and the whole collared and chained into a grim concrete room was bit much - I thought collared for the night was some sort of sexy light bdsm play thing.

Then follows some seriously hot erotica, the mating heat, well not mating but close to mating bedroom antics. Then again were are in the anxious head of these two - to mate or not to mate that is the question... and it got old pretty quick. If it hadn't been for the hot sex, I would have abandoned ship.

I liked Shawn, he was hot, capable and sexy - he wanted to hold on to his bachelor ways, but Diana proved too much a temptation with her alluring scent, her untrained alpha female allure and her heat. Shawn did change his mind though, wanting to keep Diana, when she was still questioning loosing her freedom.

Diana I didn't like, she came off whiny and unsure, lacking self esteem and then trying to fake it when she didn't yet quite feel it. She was just hard for me to like. Though she was a great match to Shawn chemistry wise, with all the will I, won't I, the sex was still creative and definitely hot!

Top 3 Likes : Sexy Shawn, animalistic anticipation and sex, leopard shifters!

Top 3 Dislikes : Flib-flob mood and plot, unclear emotions, whining.

"Tattoo artist Catalina Brown falls head-over-orgasms for the stranger who asks for a tentacle tattoo on his... most sensitive body part. Normally mixing business with pleasure isn't her thing, but he's a sexual magnet she's instantly drawn to, particularly after Cat experiences a wicked-hot artistic high while tattooing his every succulent inch. It all seems too good to be true.

Octoposeidon shape shifter Calder Croft catches the female's succulent scent when she passes his California marina, and he can't ignore the way she fires his blood. After meeting her, he's stunned to discover Cat has no idea she's a shifter about to come into her Change. It takes all his self-control to keep from ravishing the sexy woman right on the spot. Calder has to tell Cat the truth about her heritage. She'll either accept her birthright as a shifter-or succumb to madness, forever losing their chance at love."  ~ From Goodreads

Hot tattoos, tentacle sex and wicked chemistry - that's Passionate Ink for you! I have to say that living in this day and age if you haven't heard of tentacle sex you are sheltered girl! Okay, so I had heard about it, and was wondering if any paranormal romance was gonna take that on and just on luck I ran into Passionate Ink on my guest to look for tattoos and romance ( I've been addicted to Ink Master ) - I found the Pricked line on Ellora's Cave and the cover looked so yummy, the blurb so good I had to have this. To my surprise it's immediately revealed Catalina in into tentacles - and I was like whoa-hey! this is what I've wanted to come on in PNR! Let's test drive it!

I loved the story, the plot was hot, little wicked and intriguing! Catalina is about to shape-shift for the first time, she's experiencing black outs and uncontrollable lust, but not just for anyone but for Calder the hottie getting tentacle/octopus ink done. This would all be fine but something is off, and she can't be sure if Calder is bad news, and yeah the black out, worst case scenario, brain tumor, or is it... flashbacks of hot tentacle sex in the bottom of the ocean with Calder are unnerving and with him keeping secrets she's not sure anything's real any more.

Calder is trying to keep his cool, but telling Cat she's a shifter is not gonna be easy. there is the added threat of her going into denial, shifting and loosing her marbles. Calder's introduction to the story was seriously hot! I mean he's reacting to Cat in primal way while she's prepping to tattoo his cock, and that was both hot and slightly uncomfortable, I mean she's gonna be doing some painful things in no time to said member. I was quite flustered with Calder, tall, dark, sexy drink of water, half naked ( and not in the traditional way ) and well endowed sitting legs spread on a tattoo chair, just waiting for you to touch his... Geez, am I blushing!?

Okay, the sex, gotta write about it as it's so novel! Tentacle sex with an octoposeidon shifter. Let's get body parts straight here; so a man's body, normal tentacle still present, but his hands and legs turn into tentacles, woman's body same thing but no man tentacle ( pause for giggles trying to write this scientifically out of context ). Basically it's one tentacle to hold on to a female octoposeidon and three to but into three places where men like to but pleasure sensing appendices. And it's kinda hot, it's kinda really hot. I think it's the whole one guy, maximum pleasure thing - no need for other guys to butt in ( oh god, that was by accident! ), it's just you and your honey and triple penetration. LOL! What's not to like?

About the ending... That was the only part I didn't like, it ended too abruptly, with all the talk of other shifters he would have to defend her posession as mate against, I though there would be a grand finale with a pouching octoposeidon shifter. Sure the ending was a happy one, but too abrupt.

REVIEW - LIONS, TIGERS, AND SEXY BEARS OH MY! (GIVEAWAY)

"Lions, Tigers, and Sexy Bears Oh My! was a prime example of entertaining, sexy and suspense filled were-romance! "A Montana town where no one is who they seem....

Everything about runaway heiress Ainsley McLeon screamed trouble - from her luscious midnight locks to her Louboutin-clad toes.  Yet sexy, stoic bar owner Luc couldn't deny the instant connection he felt to the tempting stranger… or the long-dead feelings she evoked.  She could work in his pub until her truck was fixed but after that she had to leave town for good.

Ainsley traveled with her own emotional baggage and there was no way she'd fall for the bear-tempered Luc... no matter how many passionate nights she spent in his bed or how safe she felt in his muscular arms. Can these two opposites find love in the middle of a blizzard, or will Luc's darker side and Ainsley's past catch up with them?"  ~ From Goodreads

The blurb really draws you in, it's got everything you could want, werebears, an heiress, danger and fashion, doesn't get much better than that in my book! ;) I love the plot of Ainsley putting pedal to the metal to get out of LA to save her life, she's ingenious, she's smart and NOT an obnoxious bitch - I loved her mean streak and her ability to take care of herself.

And the grumpy bear, literally, Luc was the epitome of it, he was struggling through losing his family in a car accident and that had turned him quite the crouch, but with great big kind heart. He wanted to through Ainsley out on her ass with her designer jeans first until he saw the mess and bruises she was in then it it was protective instinct 101 and we know how that ends up in romances. ;)

Luc and Ainsley together were a blast, she didn't take no for an answer and he was running out of tricks to keep her at a distance. Of course this meant attraction, chemistry ( oh so good chemistry! ) and the mandatory kiss that just couldn't be stopped. This was a proper Romance, and I loved it! Luc and Ainsley ended up being seriously hot together and with Ainsley's death threats coming out to Luc's knowledge things went from hot to sizzling, got to love a sexy big muscled protective Care bear! Err, sorry, Werebear. ;)

Lions, Tigers, and Sexy Bears Oh My! was a prime example of entertaining, sexy and suspense filled were-romance! I couldn't get enough and I am desperate to read more Candace Havens novels in the future! Not only is she a top notch writer with magnetic characters but she writes some serious funny shit! My favorite? Ainsley's reaction to finding out Luc's a bear... I won't spoil it but involves a small dark space and shit load of brownies. ;)

I want more!

ALICE'S ALPHA - REVIEW & GUEST BLOG: "OH, THOSE MÉNAGE BOOKS!"

Oh, Those Ménage Books!
by Anna Gimble

When I was discussing my next project with the Liquid Silver Books acquisitions editor a few months back, she said, “You should write a shifter ménage.” She and I have gotten to be pretty good friends over the months I've written for LSB, so I listened to her and asked myself if I could do a credible job with multiple partners.

I started by reading a couple of shifter ménage books, just to sort of get my feet wet and get in the mood. After the second one, I was intrigued by the possibilities. Ménage arrangements offer a rich array of, ahem, shall we say, options.

My husband had been nagging me to write a story based out of Lon Chaney’s cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Bear with me for a moment. Lon Chaney Sr. built the structure between 1929 and 1920, completing it right before he died. It’s substantial. Maybe 1200 square feet. I've hiked past it many times. It’s set on the North Fork of Big Pine Creek. Today, it’s about 3 miles from the trailhead, but in the 1930s, you could drive to within about a mile-and-a-half, which made hauling the big fieldstones on mules a little easier.

Okay, I told myself, I need shifters, a ménage, and Lon Chaney’s cabin. It seemed like fertile ground, so I sat down and started to write. The setting worked out fine and I had amazing male leads. My favorite kind of alphas with to-die-for bodies. Personality-wise, they’re hot and sensual, but also tender and compassionate. Though Jed is the alpha, Terin and Bron are awesome, too. And Alice was a perfect heroine. Independent as all get out and still a virgin at close to thirty. Oh, I should mention, the story takes place in 1936, which necessitated a bit of research to make sure I got the details right for that era.

Everything was working out really well until I got to writing the group sex scenes. Gulp. They’re way harder than one-on-one sex. There are a whole bunch of body parts when you've got three guys and one gal. It took me about three tries before I had something that felt natural. Two men would have been easier, but I’m stubborn. I’d written the book with three wolf shifter males and I was really reluctant to cut one of them.

Anyway, it all worked out. I’m happy with the result and the reviews so far have been positive. Plus, Alice is one happy heroine. She crows every time I visit with her about how amazing her life is. Snort! And why wouldn't it be? Three men dancing attendance on her must rock.

How about you readers? What do you love about ménage books? Why would you seek them out over, say, a shifter romance featuring a single hero and heroine?

"It’s 1936. Thirty-year-old Alice has almost given up finding a man. Between civil engineering and mountain climbing, her interests are so masculine she scares men away. A poor route choice lands her next to horror movie star Lon Chaney’s cabin deep in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. She’s wary when Jed, a strikingly handsome man, offers her shelter.

By the time she discovers he’s clan leader for a pack of wolf shifters, she’s in way too deep to back out. Her carefully tended wasteland of a heart cracks wide open and all her preconceived notions shatter. Snared by the mate bond, Alice discovers passion hot enough to change her forever. She’s just getting used to Jed when his lieutenants show up, and she discovers she’s mated to all three."  ~ From Goodreads

I liked how Alice’s Alpha was set in 1936, but that also kept my mind vary of could this happen, could that and not being 1930’s expert it did distract me a little. But, very little! Because the story is interesting, we get some back story while the wolf and bear reminisce, and we also get to know Jed and Alice separately very well before they are but together. I was expecting something with the whole Lon Chaney story line but he’s got nothing to do with the book ( although it's explained in the Guest Blog, why it's there ), and I’m not even sure why he’s in the blurb, to be honest?

The romance is hot of course, it starts with you getting a hint just hard it’s been on the boys to be mateless all these years, and then enter Alice whose sent drives Jed mad, though he hides it pretty well for the first few minutes. ;) Then its toe sucking and our heroine’s a goner. ;) Of course Jed and Alice had the main romance but eventually the other two wolves return to the cabin and all hell breaks loose, Alice wants nothing to do with any of them – and that creates great conflict! And that’s not all of it, in Ann Gimpel’s world humans are taught to believe all shifters are evil, kidnap babies and eat them kind of way - so Alice isn't exactly raving happy when the trio’s species comes up.

Alice’s Alpha is a great short story of wolf shifters, a tough cookie heroine, the irresistible mate bond and 1930’s - and it’s an awesome read, even with the little snags on the road.

You should know : The sex is pretty tame (but still hot!) for a foursome - in case that would have scared you away.
