Negotiating a temporary peace when one only speaks Demonic and one English, it takes trial and error and a lot of hand signals to figure out an arrangement. Now Carrow has 6 days to trick the smitten Vemon through the portal or she and Ruby are dead.

I’m reading through these books like a fiend, but I simply cannot help it! The world Kresley Cole has created is amazing, delicious, charged with such temptation it’s the definition of a hot read. And she never forgets to add trouble, difficulties that would have a weaker creatures on their despairs.

I love it that Carrow thinks she can take care of herself but has to depend on her Vemon as her powers are dependent of feeding of happiness, and Malkom’s happiness is only related to her, so she has to keep him happy as well.

And I loved Malkom, he’s a brute, sure but he’s also passionate, tortured and broken and her betrayal is something he might never be able to forgive, still he wants her, feels for her and is determent to keep her whatever it takes. There is definitely a very dark side of him that even Carrow faces. But it makes him so much more the good guy when due.

I loved this book! I loved the sinister forest, the hellish creatures, Carrow and Malkom’s passion and self-enforced chastity, I loved the idea of the order bringing them together only to break them both and their hearts, I loved Malkom’s rage and gentleness with Carrow and I loved Carrow’s resilience and resolve.

In one sentence, another Cole must read!

 "Just as she dragged the weapon into the brush behind her, the attacker plowed into the clearing.

Carrow craned her head up. And up . . . She lost her breath.

The being's body was nearly seven feet tall and splashed with blood. Large horns curved back from above his ears. His lips were parted, exposing upper and lower fangs. Another demon.

And, gods, this one was big. His broad chest and brawny arms were covered in a mesh chainmail shirt, his muscles rippling with strength under the metal. He was clad in leather pants, and they too were spattered in crimson. His long hair was tangled around those horns and hung over his dirty face. A sparse beard covered his cheeks.

Surely, this couldn't be . . . him. Her target. Nothing about his appearance indicated vampirism. Please don't let it be him.

I absolutely loved this book! The story is fairly simple but Garreth and Lucia make it so spicy!

Lucia desperately wants the werewolf even though she cannot admit it, and Garreth can't think of anything except having her for forever even if this means chasing her all over the globe. It's such a yummy combination that it's impossible not to get a little giddy!

I'm a fan of Kresley Cole, and this was very similar to A Hunger Like No Other ( IAF#1 ) in its mood, and I absolutely loved it. Loved the world, loved the nasty dangerous Amazon and the Indiana Jones-esque story with hot enough romance to melt one's panties!

A must read Kresley Cole!

With the Sword that can finally kill Omort in the brothers sight they set off to fetch it, but before they can even embark, a woman appears in front of Rydstrom on a deserted road and seduces him to follow her.

Sabine, hasn't had an easy life, and growing up in her stepbrothers corrupt and disgusting invaded castle has left her, a Sorceress, wicked, evil and selfish. Her destiny is to receive the child of The Demon King to open The Well of Souls in the middle of the castle to help either evil or good to win in the coming Accession ( a Lore doomsday of sorts ). As she lures Rydstrom into his old castle, now corrupt by evil and death, through a portal, she drugs him as he refuses to buy into her Illusion and sleep with her, and shackles him into a bed in his old dungeons.

As Rydstrom discovers where he is, and who she is, he's enraged, promising to destroy her and Omort for this - and she sets out to seduce him, tease him until he proclaims her his mate and Queen and then she'll sleep with him to get his heir.  Rydstrom learns that prefers sex a little differently than he thought, instead of being kind and gentle like he has been with other women he’s tried, Sabine brings out his dominant features. As Rydstrom realizes she's his mate, confusion sets in, who on earth would give him an evil mate, related to his archenemy, he doesn't want her - but he sure as hell won't let her go. She's his, no matter the shackles, the evil tendencies, her cruelty and the fact that she's making him insane.

“She may be an evil bitch, but she is my evil bitch. And I'll have no other.”

Now, wow, haven't read a plot like this, ever. A Queen of Illusions kidnaps a demon, bounds him into her bed, seduces him to the brink of insanity and then refuses to sleep with him until her makes her his Queen so that their child can be the legal heir of the Castle.

This is one seriously hot read! Even two weeks later I get butterflies in my tummy recalling some of the shackled scenes. ;) So if you are at all squeamish about sex this book isn't for you. But if you like a little play on dominance, and one angry horny demon then, there you go.

I personally would have liked this story a bit sweeter, and the beginning was bit hard to swallow at times, as I like my heroines brave, strong and good, so rooting for Sabine was very hard at first. And it isn't until towards the end of the book when her compassion is shown that she really grows on you and it's all good and she becomes a truly great character, a quasi-evil but kind "queen" who destined to bring the women fire demons out of the meek and ignorant middle-ages.

When a group of young females had asked her what one should name her horse, she'd answered, "I like the sound of Fellatio."
When Rydstrom had confronted Sabine about it, she'd said, "Do you know how priceless it was to hear that demoness sigh, 'I love my Fellatio'? Even gold can't buy moments like that!”

Rydstrom I have loved since Wicked Deeds On A Winter's Night ( #3 ) he's honorable, a king, gracious but can hack down incubi like there’s no tomorrow, he's determent to get his crown back and even though Sabine is quite wicked he still sees some good in her even though she masks her tell-tale expressions with Illusions in the beginning.

Now I cannot help but to mention few things! I bet Cole used some Finnish in this book! Like the castle is Called Tornin ( Torni = Tower in Finnish ) and Rydstrom is practically a Finnish last name ( Rydström )! Go Finnish language. ;D If I ever have the chance to talk to her that's def gonna be in my guestions. ;)

If you like the Immortals After Dark series then do not miss this! And if you haven't read IAF series but you want to read this one then definitely read Dark Desires After Dusk first ( trust it's no chore ;) ) as these two books are like one book all wrapped up together.

Cadeon convinces her to come with him to keep her safe from people wanting The Vessel either killed or bred, and to get her Valkyrie genes revoked by Groot the Metallurgist, the maker of the sword.

The thing is Holly doesn't want the crude, cursing, eternal bachelor Cadeon, she wants her platonic boyfriend, her math, her codes and her ODD habits. Finally she begins to give in, but then with her trust in his hands can he still exchange her for the sword and saves his brother's kingdom, or have her for himself?

I love Immortals After Dark novels, they are never boring! The Valkyries are the funniest group of frat boys/girls in the history of Paranormal Romance, the Lykae sexy as hell massive werewolves, The Vampires both evil and wonderfully sexy and the Demons rugged and medieval and one cannot help but love visit them all book after book. There is so much going on in Dark Desire After Dusk the plot that one never tires of reading these - this one is fine example, there are enough plot twist that you can't help reading on and on until you are finished. It's bloody entertaining!

I loved Cadeon, he curses, is bit of a slob, he's crude and it makes him such a contrast to Holly it's delicious. And he's definitely the most vocal of the IAD heroes in bed. I'm usually not very into accents in a books, cause they can go overboard, but I liked Cadeon's accent in this book, fit his cocky attitude perfectly!

Holly was a bundle of nerves, logical to fault and she lied to herself constantly but still even with her ODD of having things free and being a germaphobe she was surprisingly likable, but also extremely butt headed and strong - which was a fabulous mix and I truly enjoyed her especially towards the end where she begins to accept her Valkyries roots.

Dark Desires After Dusk is a great paranormal, sexy and tormented road trip across America and many check points to find the Metallurgist. DDAD was so much fun read, the characters well developed to grab the reader’s attention and the keep it, the contradiction were what made this book so entertaining as well as the love beginning to blossom between them and the very yummy jealousy Cadeon hadn't been familiar feeling. This book is for the fans of adventure, sexy paranormal romance and those of us who like their heroes bit rough around the edges. ;)

There isn't much negatives one can say about this series, I suppose if I had to think of one it would be that with the twisting plot I love can be little hectic and confusing at times, not enough to bother the story as you read, but it's gotten much more complex since book one ( both pro and con ), and in retrospect I can see the hecticness. Still it only takes away one star so it's not something that would ever stop me from reading these books!

Conrad never wanted to be turned vampire by his two brothers, he'd been fighting vampires since he was 13 years-old and to be turned into one is a betrayal like no other and eventually he sank low and killed by draining his victims making him more powerful and more mad - but now stuck in the mansion with a ghost, or possibly his own mad illusion, he begins to gain fraction of sanity when he's around her and her ever clarifying form. Soon he finds himself drawn to her, but he's dead, nothing works, and she's dead so nothing works there either, but the more lucid he becomes the more it seems she could have once been his Bride when she was alive. A Bride who can bring a dead vampire alive, but even if she could do that she'd be still dead.

And as half of the Lore is shouting of with his head, he's more dangerous to Néomi than any other thread could be...

Kresley Cole is brilliant, these Immortals After Dark novels are a pure joy to read, they are sexy, dark, tempting and full of obstacles to get through to be able to have even a hope of existing together. Dark Needs at Night's Edge is a story of a ghost and blood-crazed vampire falling for each other - now that is something I've never come across before!

The characters are compelling and fun, all the previous book characters come back and deepen the story world, and my favorite, Nix, the crazy ever-seeing soothsayer with some lucid some not-so-lucid moment is a hoot to read, I've fallen in love with her character and luckily she's the connection with all the novels so there will be much more of her.

What I love about this story is that even though Conrad is the alpha-male, Néomi is the aggressor so to speak she sexually experienced where Conrad is actually not, she's bought her own home in the twenties and remained unmarried and successful, when Conrad has been hacking off heads... It's interesting how she's the power figure of the two, the sane and commanding figure even though he's a foot taller, a big guy and she's a tiny ballet dancer.

But that’s all but forgotten after Bowen's kiss and entombment, she's furious, she curses Bowen to lose his power to regenerate which loses him the Hie and his way to Mariah.

Bowen who can't get his mind off of Mariketa has to return for her and take her safely to the Lore or its full blown war, while fighting the feeling that she's his mate, perhaps one reincarnated or perhaps the wicked witch has put a spell on him! It doesn't matter as he has to have her, and he'll do whatever it takes to seduce the little witch.

Oh, but there’s more, a darkness is gaining on the distance to Mariketa, as while mortal she can be killed before she can fulfill her destiny and face Häxa, a goddess turned immortal, who’s played her like pawn throughout her life. And Bowen takes it upon himself to guard her, but there only so much a lone werewolf can do…

Kresley Cole is amazing! This series keeps getting better with every read, I love her set-up of enemies who turn to lovers - there is nothing quite as tempting as enemies whose passions are blazing but they don't want to do anything about, or wait, do they? These books are beautifully dark, brooding, sexy and this particularly makes you want to get lost in a jungle with a horny werewolf. ;)

Bowen has been a joy to read since the first book where Emma teases him that heroin chic was so 90's and Mariketa is wonderful slightly immature 22 year old mortal in the capable hands of 1200 year old werewolf, a witch with a power arsenal of atomic bomb, and she can't control her powers. The two make an entertaining couple!

I simply can't stop reading this series, I'm already over halfway through the next book, Dark Needs At Night's Edge.

Sebastian is wonderful, slightly awkward having been bullied in his human years for being too big and clumsy by the women in his village, which now sets interesting chemistry between him and Kaderin as he sets to win her into his life.

Kaderin is tough as friggin' nails, she wants to be emotionless and seeing her adjust to emotions again is so funny. I especially loved when Sebastian notices her further away as the games are about to start when she flips Bowen the werewolf off and then turns to gape at her own lifted finger in shock. She's likeable but not as fun to read as Sebastian.

Yes, I am officially addicted to this series! No Rest definitely solidified that with fast pace, sizzlingly sensual thrill ride with dragons, serpents and hidden treasures not to mention to scorching hot sexual attraction between Kaderin and Sebastian!

A PNR must read series!

When suddenly a tall dark dangerous man captures her, growls and wants her - in a way she's never witnessed before. She's not called Emma the Timid without a reason, dead afraid of pain and death she doesn't but up a whole lot of fight as it turns out Lachlain is a werewolf, little mad bossy as hell enemy of both Valkyries and Vampires, kidnaps her and forces her to go to Scotland with him.

Lachlain is so much fun to read, he's primal, rough, bossy and gets exactly what he wants except for Emma who wants absolutely nothing to do with him. He's waited for her for thousand year and she says, No. Never once he entertains the idea of letting her go, even though she's a vampire hence everything he hates and despises, no she's going to be his for the rest of his life wither she wants to or not. Which is sexy as hell! Sorry, that just had to come out. ;)

Emma finally gathers courage she's been missing the seventy years she's been around, seeing her courage rise as Lachlain bullies her makes the character grow on you, even being timid she grows a lot during the novel and becomes more and more likable... and a match for Lachlain.

I haven't read a book lately as sexy, steamy and delicious as this even though there isn't more than one or two actual sex scenes in the book - but there is a lot of teasing, almost and frustration, a yummy yummy book!

Cole's story is wonderful, it has depth where it needs it, laughter to keep it light, danger creeping up closer and closer to Emma for threat, teasing until the reader is rooting for the couple to get it on and a plot with enough character drama to feed the story of Emmaline and Lachlain and the wickedly fun Valkyrie aunts! I'm addicted to the Immortals After Dark series! And to Lachlain. ;)

I like the second cover much better than the first, even my husband asked if she's a hooker as he saw me reading the first cover version (where she is dressed like a hooker in the red leather top). So props for coming up with a better cover! (the top one)
