At the end of "Destined For An Early Grave" Cat finally becomes a full blooded vampire, but it seems she's never destined to be normal. She was a freak of nature at half-vampire, now as a full blood one she's still not normal - she drink vampire blood, absorbing the vampire’s special abilities.

These abilities have Apollyon, a ghoul, nervous. He tried to kill Cat before when she was a half-vampire, now he uses her to instigate a full blown war, ghouls against vampires. And no one sane wants that!

Cat and Bones, now married, try to put out the fire before it burns both species - but it's hard when Apollyon hides, encouraging ghouls to strike against vampires. Joining forces with Mencheres and Vlad again ensures a story that does not lack in witty quips and laugh out louds!

Bones takes Cat up to the top of a bridge for flying lessons while he waits by the water line.
    "Your instincts kicked in under duress. Falling from this height should make you experience similar duress, allowing those instincts to take over again." he replied with more calm that was fair. "Come on, Kitten, jump. Or I'll throw you off."
    "You throw me off this bridge, Bones, and  you'll have a lot celibacy in your future!"
    His lips curled in a way that said he wasn't worried. "Only means I'd have to work harder to change your mind, and you know how I love my work. Now quit stalling. If you're still up there in five minutes, I'm tossing you off."
    I slowly uncurled my death grib from the beam. He'd do just what he said, and if I knew Bones, he'd already started the countdown.

Cat and Bones are such fun to read. They are the sexiest couple around, hands down!

I had forgotten how much I laugh reading the Night Huntress series, Jeaniene Frost is frigging goddess of fun paranormal romance! There isn't a woman around who can write like she does where you can't but the book down, and scare your pet/partner my suddenly laughing out loud and blush like crazy the next moment.

Cat is still the same ballsy, quick witted, lethal woman we've come to love during the series, she's just a little more mature in the way that she doesn't go off on her own, not after what happened with Bones on DfaEG, which still breaks my heart, btw. Bones is the same, and so addictive to read, any woman would absolutely love to get Bones on their case. I dare anyone to say they could resist the guy! ;D

Frost is a JOY to read! Pick this series up!

Alright this one's tough, do I like this one or book #2 better?

Both are filled with action and witty writing, hmmm....?

Alright I pick this one, even though it isn't quite as light to read as Book #2.

The book begins with a weird dream as Bones and Cat are on a yacht on their way to Europe on... wait for it, vacation. ;) Who knew vampires and half-vampires did European vacations, right?

Well it's about time, they have been through enough and need some R&R – of course they get none as it turns out Cat's dreams are far more dangerous than mere nightmares.

A Vampire older and more powerful than Bones is trying to get his hands on Cat, telling her she is his, not Bones' and that she has been lied to and been deceived and that she wants him not Bones and the life Bones offers her. And that she just can’t remember it as her memories were robbed from her.

As Cat and Bones battle Cat falling asleep and to keep her from the vampire Gregor, their relationship start to chip and break under the pressure. Which is hard to read. Of course it's exactly what Gregor wants - them, apart.

Cat and Bones keep trying to make things work, not be so suspicious - but just how much can one relationship take before it breaks and all you have is shards tearing you apart. I am not going to tell you what goes down, you'll just have to read it yourself, but trust me it's worth it.

Vlad has another big role in the book, and it's very hard to not fall in love with his character, the mind reading, pyrokinetic charmer that he is. ( If I recall right he has his own book in the Night Huntress World series ) Mencheres is back as well, contributing greatly to plot as the 4000 year old serious mega-master vampire.

This book is full of twist but in a good way - a very good way! It is one of the series' most interesting books so far, definitely. It's easy to read in few days and it leaves you hungry to read more, like, right away. Which is why I'm getting my paws into This Side Of The Grave, as we speak.

Third book in the series begins with a reminder that Cat's evil son of a dad isn't dead, and that promises a confrontation in the future. While Cat continues with undercover work baiting naughty human killing vampires, Bones is made to keep his promise of turning Cat's team member to a vampire, to everyone's surprise it turns out be Tate, who still carries a torch for Cat.

As if it's not enough to disrupt the couple from settling into living together again, daddy is back and has his mind set on killing Cat. Bones is forced to give a public demonstration on just what happens to vampires who go after Cat, and it won't be subtle.

But there is much more brewing under the surface, and neither Cat or Bones have any idea what is coming after them and just how powerful they are and how much they are willing to do to see the death of them both.

Cat and Bones are joined by Ian, Spade and Mencheres and Vlad who has a bite more interesting history behind him.

Jeanine Frost writes like adventure film on screen, this book like the two before is fast pace, thrilling ride with vampires, ghouls and one pissed off mother.

The book is definitely a grabber and it's hard to put down. I love the action and the few romantic, tummy twisting steamy lines and scenes! Definitely worth reading.

REVIEW - ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE - NIGHT HUNTRESS NOVEL 2

It's rare that I come across a series where the next book is better than the first, but One Foot in the Grave sure is!

As we know what we do from the first book, we already know Cat and how she operates, so getting in the groove of this second novel is like stepping into old boots, erm, in her case stilettoes, as she goes after vampires who've been naughty.

In the first novel we saw Cat come to terms with who she is as half human, half vampire, an accident, as her mother was raped by a recently turned vampire. She also meats the Master Vampire, Bones, who trains her, works with her and sparks keep flying due to hate and love. As Cat falls fully in love, she has a tough decision to make at the end of Book 1, and now in the Book 2 she has to live with the consequences of her choice.

It's been four years since she joined the task force, her life goes on its normal path, until her one and only friend gets married and what do you know Bones appears as well.

Reading what Cat's life has become is fun, and part of why I truly liked the book! Her interaction with her team is witty and sort of macho, the supporting characters are a hoot and add more to Cat as well.

But with Bones appearing all goes haywire for her, as she keeps slipping and realizing she never did stop loving him.

Delicious chase begins as Bones has no qualms about going after what he Does want - which is Cat, he's found her and he's not about the let her run again. Seduction being his best weapon againt runways.

Juan, Cooper and Tate are a great addition to the book, all of them having strong types they play, slightly raunchy but all business.

More secrets come out as Cat also faces the fact that there is bounty on her head, as well as someone want to have a Cat Half-Breed Trophy in their collection.

There is no lack of slashing, fighting and, well, sex in this book chapter 32 Whoa! especially.
( Chapter 32 of this book is considered one of the hottest sex scenes ever written in a paranormal romance in most circles. )

REVIEW - HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE - NIGHT HUNTRESS NOVEL 1

Well this was entertaining and help spend good 24 hours of my life, night not included.

Cat is a pretty simple character, straight forward without much fuss, seducing vamps at bars and faking innocence until she stakes them for trying to go for the jugular. Pretty basic.

Then of course her rhythm is thrown off when a vampire snatches her during gig gone bad. To her luck he's not the off with their heads type and they struck an uneasy deal.

As training begins Cat is baptized to embrace the powers of her vampire half, while she struggles to get grasps of vampire culture with her human half.

Being half vampire, half human hasn't been easy on Cat, starting with being different. And it's no help that her mother hates vampires with such vigor it's making their relationship strain as Cat works with Bones, the vampire training her, who also teacher her not all vampires are just out for an artery party.

Bones hard to really like in the beginning but you warm up to him later on - mostly I had a problem with his training where he often beat her, suppose it really was keeping with theme of the book, but any 'woman beating' I'm not a fan of.

This book has some juicy secrets coming out, that make you think back of what happened in the first half of the book.

One of the most delicious parts of the book humor wise is the lesson in dirty talk, which made me laugh and blush at the same time.

This entire book is fun, easy to read, and you enjoy the story, but I think I'm done with the series, at least for now. I feel it's for younger people and at 29 I'm bit too old to read it. Don't be fooled though, you'd have to be 18 to read it with the sex scene that's in there.

I'd recommend this to 18-25 year olds mainly, and those who like a good vampire story without horror.
