The story in One Hard Ride was a nice mix of saving the brothers from ruin designed by their cousin and whole lot of steaming hot sex. That's saying it simply. M.M. Bordeaux writes very well, even if there hadn't been sex I would have still been very entertained! But there was and boy was there plenty of it! At points I though maybe bit too much - but seriously can you ever have too much of a good thing? ;)
Bordeaux had a way with characters! Amanda could have a been just a sexual object with the amount of getting busy as this novel had, but she was genuinely likable and fun and did have that adventurous nature that and erotic romance heroine needs to possess. Jake was all kinds of yummy darkness and light wrapped up together and I loved seeing him begin falling for Amanda. Justin was fun, lots of it outside and inside the bedroom and matched with Luke the pair was quite the irresistible couple of cowboys to any girl. The characters had nice depth and three dimensional edge to make them well believable.
The romance really was between Amanda and Jake, even though they both fought the deeper feeling and tried their damn hardest to keep things as casual as possible. Of course that never works out quite like people plan, now does it? I also liked the threat that crazy cousin kept bringing to the romance too, sure deepened the emotions for sure.
All in all very very good book, very much worth a read for lover of erotic romance and cowboys!
