The blurb really draws you in, it's got everything you could want, werebears, an heiress, danger and fashion, doesn't get much better than that in my book! ;) I love the plot of Ainsley putting pedal to the metal to get out of LA to save her life, she's ingenious, she's smart and NOT an obnoxious bitch - I loved her mean streak and her ability to take care of herself.

And the grumpy bear, literally, Luc was the epitome of it, he was struggling through losing his family in a car accident and that had turned him quite the crouch, but with great big kind heart. He wanted to through Ainsley out on her ass with her designer jeans first until he saw the mess and bruises she was in then it it was protective instinct 101 and we know how that ends up in romances. ;)

Luc and Ainsley together were a blast, she didn't take no for an answer and he was running out of tricks to keep her at a distance. Of course this meant attraction, chemistry ( oh so good chemistry! ) and the mandatory kiss that just couldn't be stopped. This was a proper Romance, and I loved it! Luc and Ainsley ended up being seriously hot together and with Ainsley's death threats coming out to Luc's knowledge things went from hot to sizzling, got to love a sexy big muscled protective Care bear! Err, sorry, Werebear. ;)

Lions, Tigers, and Sexy Bears Oh My! was a prime example of entertaining, sexy and suspense filled were-romance! I couldn't get enough and I am desperate to read more Candace Havens novels in the future! Not only is she a top notch writer with magnetic characters but she writes some serious funny shit! My favorite? Ainsley's reaction to finding out Luc's a bear... I won't spoil it but involves a small dark space and shit load of brownies. ;)

I want more!

If you love quirky Tim Burton movies then you'll love Fancy Free! The story of a shy woman inheriting a condom company, Fancy Free, and deciding she needs to know more about the product this odd bird chooses the factory manager as her way of doing it. This book is funny, odd, hilarious and occasionally you wanna cringe at the things that the heroine spouts out.

Despite it Alice is a joy to read for all the oddness included and she has nice growth arc as a character, while still remaining peculiar. James on the other hand had the playboy meets a prude story arc that was thoroughly enjoyable and his worry that his new "kink" was prissy almost virgins in horrid clothing was quite amusing.

The romance was in the guaranteed Ellora's Cave fashion hot, oh so hot! There is something about virginal quiet girls that bag and bang a stud muffin that just delights me! Especially when the aforementioned stud muffin has it bad for her and is creative in showing aforementioned virginal quiet girl just how many ways there are to use a condom!

Let's start with my preconceived notions: I have never been to a strip club and am skeptical what goes on their and what the clientele is like. I did see Magic Mike though when it came out and that cleared it a bit - so in my mind the women going regularly to strip clubs were desperate, and the men working at them easy. And here come Cole and Whitfield to prove me wrong! Ahem, on some of the points. ;)

Take It Off!'s insight on male strippers is interesting, not to mention Entertaining, you got your pecking order established ( poor rookies ), your types of strippers, stage acts all cleared out and the boys have a nice voice to their writing! Take It Off! tells you pretty much all you need to know if you want to be a strippers the dos and don'ts, and gives an impressive list of what not to do if you wanna date one.

Some of the most entertaining parts came with their telling on how to be a stripper, what to expect, the rookie mistakes and revealing the types of strippers. Some people can tell a story, and reading this book is like sitting down at the local bar over few beers and sharing "war" stories with your buddies. Great fun!

"Many rookies get caught up trying to impress the crowd or outdo other guys and will do something he never attempted before, such as a back flip or sliding across the the stage on his knees after taking his pants off. Seeing someone land on his head or skin his bare knees on the on the hardwood stage will make a woman cringe. It's totally hilarious though."

"Props can be pain. ( about flying to another town ) We needed a wheelchair and a set of bongo drums, and our luggage was already full. We came up with the idea that I would pretend to be a blind bongo player and he had to push me in a wheelchair because I couldn't navigate myself through the airport. It worked perfectly. We got through security with no trouble at all. Six-foot-four jacket up stud pushing a wheelchair containing a muscle pound blind bongo player in a tight shirt attracted a lot of female attention. So we decided to have some fun with it..."

What I enjoyed was the fun, yet surprisingly sexy telling of male stripper life, the ups and lows ( and the lows were quite hilarious ) of the life style. Of course you got drugs ( bad boys, stop that right now *uses kindergarten teacher voice* ) and other problems, but the way Take It Off! puts it they seemed to have enjoyed themselves and the girls that came with the job were a definite bonus, if not a profession standard.

The chapters and scenes featuring sexploits, titled sexcapedes, read like good for-men erotica, wither it was hotel room hook-ups with clients or bathroom quickies or even a dark corner during a black out, they were definitely hot enough to get you on the mood, I don't see many other profession tell-alls doing that. ;)

It isn't Mental Cruelty that’s the primary cause of broken marriages. Nor is it Adultery, Abandonment, or Habitual Drunkenness.

The first and foremost cause is Toilet Paper. And the second is Toothpaste. If she likes the toilet paper going “over” and he insists it hang “under” or if he squeezes the tube neatly from the bottom and she messes it up by squeezing in the middle, those are grounds for divorce in my book. What did you think Irreconcilable Differences meant, anyway?

Quirk compatibility is essential among couples.

The next time you’re at a party, instead of asking, “Are you a Leo?,” find out whether he’s a Folder or a Crumpler. It’s a good way to avoid serious problems in a relationship.

Your honeymoon was a big hit with both of you jockeying for the same side of the bed. The marriage vow you took was, “I do—claim the right side for the rest of my life.”

Are you a Blanket Hogger? Someone with an overwhelming but unconscious need to slowly and systematically wind yourself up in the blanket in the middle of the night so there is no hope for your poor half-frozen partner to retrieve even a corner. Worse than having a Blanket Hogger for a spouse is having one who is a Diagonal Sleeper. Don’t plan on getting any sleep if you’re late to bed.

I should know. I interviewed thousands of people about their outrageous, outlandish and downright ridiculous eccentricities for my books, "Admit It, You're Crazy! Quirks, Idiosyncrasies and Irrational Behavior" and "And I Thought I Was Crazy! Quirks, Idiosyncrasies and Meshugaas". From hilarious bathroom behavior to funny money and unconventional clothing habits to eating and sleeping peculiarities to germ-a-phobia and more. People do the darndest things!

Here are some quirks you may have observed your guy doing:

• When he gets dressed, he’ll put on his pants, zip up the zipper, button the button and buckle the belt. Then he gets his shirt, unbuckles the belt, unbuttons the button, unzips the zipper, tucks his shirt in and then does the whole thing up again. Why doesn't he put his shirt on first!!!?
• When he gets home at night, does he remove all the contents of his pockets and stack it on the dresser?
• And, of course, how many times has he driven miles out of the way rather than ask for directions?

Ladies, don't laugh. We may dress more efficiently, but we’re just as quirky as the guys:

• In a social situation, women usually go to the ladies' room in pairs or groups. If two couples are out to dinner and one of the women excuses herself to go to the ladies' room, the chances are pretty good the other woman will go with her. Can you imagine a guy doing this? “Hey, Charlie, I'm going to the men’s room. Wanna come?”
• And for those gals who are fortunate enough to have a housekeeper, I bet you tidy up before the housekeeper is due to arrive!

After reading some of these strange but absolutely true goings-on, you will be amazed that hardly an hour in your life goes by that you don’t witness some of these quirks…either in yourself (who me?) or in others. You’ll finally understand your friends, enemies, bosses and partners a lot better.

My books are not attempting to solve, define, or make excuses for some of the more common or uncommon idiosyncrasies. Its intent is simply to help you recognize them, laugh at them, and breathe a little easier.

Hilarious and entertaining! Cattitude was intriguing, let's face it a cat turning into human and having to adjust to walking, eating, learning to talk and read, and yikes, taking a SHOWER for crying out loud. I absolutely loved all Belle's and Max's parts of the book! Cattitude is fresh, new and hilarious!

Now the the critique part... There were too many point-of-views that distracted a reader from the story and it slows the book down, if it had been up to me I would have cut off Gwen and Phil's POV at least or had some of their parts in another's POV. I seriously believe the book would have been more quick witted and romantic had the plot stayed together. That is the only fault in the book. ( even though it's a big one for me )

Everything else I loved! I loved the hero and the heroine, I loved the supporting cast, I loved Ms. Ramer's writing and her story telling and I loved the funky, little bit weird romance - and all the awesome cattitude Belle had going on, she was a totally believable cat in furry and woman form. And I very much enjoyed the drama and the mystery!

I would have loved to give Cattitude 5 stars - but the too multiple point-of-views really did bother me, if that had been fixed it would have been a stellar 5 star book for me.

GUEST BLOG: WRITING THE WANNABE VAMPIRE

            Now that The Wannabe Vampire is available for Kindle, one of the more common questions I'm asked is, "How did you get the idea of writing a vampire book?"

            The truth is, the idea of a vampire tale has been with me as far back as elementary school.  Back then, I played supernatural make-believe games involving witches, ghosts and vampires with my two best friends.  I was, of course, always the vampire.

            Vampire characters managed to stay with me throughout my youth.  In high school, one of my favorite movies was Love at First Bite, a comedy film starring George Hamilton.  My favorite novel was The Vampire Tapestry, written by Suzy McKee Charnas.  By the time I went college, I'd decided to write my own vampire tale.  I can remember spending many hours discussing my character with a college friend.

            Unfortunately, my plans for writing a vampire novel in college were derailed by several things.  By the time I'd settled on the idea, my college career was almost over.  I was focused on graduation, preparing for a move, finding a job, and spending as much time as possible canoodling with a long-distance love interest.  Although I did start a novel about a vampire named Michael ( which I wrote on a 1930's Underwood typewriter ) I never finished.  I had a general idea about the character, but I didn't have much of a story to put him in.  My life got in the way, and I never got more than maybe 25 pages of the manuscript completed.

            It wasn't until earlier this year that all these ideas began to solidify in my mind.  My spouse and I had recently rediscovered Dracula: The Series, a wonderful 1990's television program filmed in Luxembourg that starred Geordie Johnson in the title role.  Between that and the release of Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, I once again had vampires very much on the brain.

            What finally pushed me over the edge to start writing was that my spouse resumed nagging me to write a book.  It was something we'd talked about off and on for years, but I'd never done anything about it.  Writing wasn't something new to me, as I'd written a number of short stories in high school, I'd kept a journal for a significant portion of my life, and I'd run a now-defunct blog for six years.  It seemed I was at a time in my life where everything fell into place.  I grabbed a stack of index cards, outlined my plot, and started writing.  In 25 days, the first draft of The Wannabe Vampire was complete.

            The inspiration for my vampire, Michael Alexander, came from a great many places.  Certainly the idea of a living vampire, as opposed to a supernatural one, came from Weyland in The Vampire Tapestry.  Although Michael is very much a living being, as opposed to being undead, he still retains many of the traditional vampiric traits that Weyland did not possess, such as fangs and a sensitivity to sunlight.

            In the end, I discovered that I was writing about the kind of vampire I'd like to meet.  Just like everyone, Michael isn't perfect.  He tries to quietly make his way in a sometimes-confusing modern world, while his life is turned upside-down by both a ghost-obsessed stalker and the girl who moves in next door.  He is sensitive, sweet, and quirky, yet he still is very much a vampire trying to make his place in the world.
I hope you'll enjoy reading about him as much as I enjoyed writing about him.

Second Time Around - Setting up newly divorced Maddie and near divorced Antonio seemed like a good idea by their friends but it seems they both have plenty of package to slug around. Things heat up and neither one can fight the attraction too long, not willing to give in they both battle to figure out if it's too soon and if there are such things as second chances in love.

Taking A Leap was such a funny, light romantic comedy - but with such a yummy sexy side! I loved Brad and Alyssa, such a cute might-be/might-be-not couple with serious chemistry. I loved the ending especially as they meet Alyssa's ex, loved it! ;) I liked Brad's sexy side even being a geek the guy was pretty well built and Alyssa's high maintenance appearance, but books really shouldn't be judged by the cover and there is so much more to her than a pretty face. Taking A Leap was a great start for the three novella collection!

Light My Fire was hilarious! From flamboyant gay men in gay clubs to alpha male firemen this story was funny, witty and romantic with a little bit heartbreak. Troy confusing Amy for a lesbian and beginning to develop feeling for her was fun to read and Amy was so clueless of the fact it was priceless. Many laugh out loud moments, lots of romance and anticipation! Yummy!

Second Time Around was more mature, somber novella in the collection. More sad and not quite so fun and playful. Second chances usually are about exes getting together again - but in Second Time Around two people burned by love battle wither it's safe to take that dive again.

I loved how all these stories tied together with Maria the lesbian romance novel author with computer problems, in need of a cat-sitter, throwing engagement parties. I liked the red line tying all the novellas together to get a coherent collection of romance!

Cat Johnson writes great romance! The characters are fun, sexy and believable ( which is more than crucial! )! If you haven't read Johnson's contemporary romance yet this is great place to start! I've been in love with her cowboy romance since Unridden, but I have new found love for her contemporary line!
