REVIEW - ANNA AND THE THREE GENERALS (+18 ONLY)

"Nothing surprises Anna as much as the three generals who wait for her in her pod. Each man tall, handsome and strong - and for the first time she feels flustered. But not as flustered when it dawns on them all that the three generals have been hand picked to be her mates because they are the only ones capable to protecting her against the terrorists."

Anna has spent the her whole life seeking for a way to grow more food in the bio domes, but now her time is up and the council is ordering her mating. Due to the low birthrate of girls  the ratio of three males to one female means that when her work day is over she's going to meet her thee mates.

Nothing surprises Anna as much as the three generals who wait for her in her pod. Each man tall, handsome and strong - and for the first time she feels flustered. But not as flustered when it dawns on them all that the three generals have been hand picked to be her mates because they are the only ones capable to protecting her against the terrorist who believe she should be out of the way so that they could search for me habitable planet, with more possibilities to grow food.

Also aren't mates suppose to try procreate once a month? How come her mates are jumping at the change to mate with her, and why does she find it hot as hell?

Oh yummyness! Okay this is so my kind of sci-fi, filled with hot muscled guys in military uniforms, sizzling individual introductions and one hot foursome, space, explosions and adventure! Seriously, what is there not to like? Well, I couldn't think of anything. The story line is simple which leaves plenty of room for all kinds of hot action but not without loosing the plot. Graham reminds me of one of my fave authors Eve Langlais, she has that same fun, witty feel to her writing, plus lots of yummy bedroom/shower/command center scenes!

I'm gonna go through each one because these things just need to be said! Vadim was so amazingly sexy, Russian ice giant with a delicious Dom side, he had Anna at the first kiss, and some... and let me tell you his authority in and outside of the bedroom was big turn on. Kojo was the emotions of the bunch, he was the one with spouts of jealousy but some nice moves when he got to show what he was made of. Marco was the Italian heartthrob, smooth talking, flirting, seductive part of the general trio. Anna was the lead but also the comical relief when things got quite hot in the living quarters, she was amusing, funny and her fantasy of old fashion Earth love was interesting addition to the story.

The romance in Anna and the Three Generals was super hot, as an erotic romance must be! A short story packed full of sexual tension, action and three really hot guys with the pleasure of their mate in mind! This story comes highly recommended by me if you have a thing for erotic ménage sci-fi romance novellas!

And this is a series ladies, how fun is that!

NIGHTFALL - REVIEW, GUEST BLOG & GIVEAWAY

Excerpt: Chapter 1

"When a wounded runner stumbles into her workshop, sculptor Talena Spenser’s comfortable, quiet life is shattered. Aiding the escaped slave risks losing more than just her freedom. She is in phase, when Cy'ren females are overwhelmed by the drive to mate.

Mordacki Loren, shadow sword of House Nightfall, knows the pain of losing a mate. He never intended to take another. But Talena, raised by humans with little knowledge of Cy'ren ways, leaves him no choice. As the mating lust consumes them, Dack promises to honor her wishes - even if that means letting her go.

Scarred and hardened by a munitions accident that sent her Alliance career up in flames, Carmen Hawke joined the Cy'ren resistance as captain of the flagship Talon. When old flame Dack returns from a mission with Carmen's childhood friend and first love, Talena, in tow, the temptation to allow someone - or two someones - close to her again cracks her emotional armor.

Pursued by an unknown enemy, the trio works together to discover the secrets of Talena's past, and to uncover a threat that could destroy the fragile peace of the Cy'ren homeworld."

The story in Nightfall was great, I loved the idea of a slave race rebelling, especially when the slave race includes some stunningly hot purple/lavender specimens of humanoids with good looks, rippling abs and wide shoulders! Who wouldn't root for them? Bachar does make the Cy'ren very interesting, even though very human like except for skin color and some special skills, and gives them enough background for multiple books! I loved the Cy'ren Phase and the fact that there were Cy'rens after her for more than Phase reasons - made for interesting reading.

I haven't yet read any ménages with male/female/female relationship going on, but it worked for me in Nightfall. Talena and Carmen had been in love for years even though they hadn't met in several years, Dack was a new acquaintance that had had dalliances with Carmen before and was more than willing to accept Carmen to his and Talina's mating. The relationship with Dack and Talina was just lust in the beginning which was softened by the love and friendship between her and Carmen. In all not a bad trio!

What stood out for me the most about the characters in Nightfall was the male Cy'ren, they had the vengeance and their good looks going for them - of the whole book they were what intrigued me the most, Jace included though he was quite the bad boy of all alien bad boys. ;)

If you are into erotic ménage sci-fi romance then this is for you!

The Sexy Side of Sci-fi
by Robyn Bachar

There’s always been a sexy side of sci-fi. Many pulp covers featured a scantily clad woman wearing a space helmet and little else, usually while being menaced by an alien or a robot. In classic Star Trek Captain Kirk always got the girl in one episode and moved on to another in the next, a tradition carried on in Next Gen by Commander Riker. But the stories that I love have more than just the relationship of the week. What would the original Star Wars trilogy be without the romance between Han Solo and Princess Leia? Or Firefly without the sexual tension between Mal and Inara?

As a romance writer, the love story is always important to me. I want my hero to save the world and get the girl—or girls, as the case may be in Nightfall. Though I’m pretty sure Captain Hawke would have words with me for referring to her as a girl, because as the tough captain of the Talon she’s not the girly type. Being with Dack and Talena allows her to indulge her softer, squishy side, and that was an essential part of the story for me while writing Nightfall.

I wanted to tell a story with epic space battles and political intrigue, but also with a passionate romance. Together, Dack, Talena and Carmen complete each other, and as their relationship develops so does the fate of the Cy’ren home world. Writing red hot ménage love scenes was a fun added bonus, and I hope my readers enjoy the ride.

ONLY SCANDAL WILL DO - REVIEW & GUEST BLOG

"He has the woman of his dreams, but what price will he have to pay to win her heart?

Kidnapped and sold at auction in a London brothel, Lady Katarina Fitzwilliam squelches an undeniable attraction to the masked stranger who purchased her, pits her wits against him, and escapes him and the scandal that would ruin her life.

Unable to resist temptation in a London brothel, Duncan Ferrers, Marquess of Dalbury, purchases a fiery beauty. She claims she's a lady, but how can she be?

No lady of his acquaintance in polite society is anything like her. Then he discovers she is who she says, and that this latest romp has compromised her reputation. He knows how that is. One more scandal and he'll be cast out of London society, but he needs a wife who'll provide an heir to carry on his illustrious family's name. He seeks out Katarina, intending only to scotch the scandal, but instead finds his heart ensnared. He's betting their future he'll capture her heart, but does he have what it
takes to win the wager?" ~From Goodreads

The story started with a blast of action with Kat being kidnapped and taken to a brothel to be sold to a highest bidder in a fantasy action. Kat's encounter with her masked buyer causes her to hate him, awake to him even though she's never seen his face. With her escape she gains her freedom back but scandal is snapping at her heels which colors all her decision making - making for one interesting historical romance!

I enjoyed reading Katarina's character, she's sweet, stubborn and headstrong but not in the annoying over the board style but in the endearing way. Duncan is one hot Marquess desperate to seduce Kat and finish what they started, but in his search for her deepens his feelings for her and watching him change his rake ways sure is yummy reading!

I loved the romance being a fight for upper hand while having it's sweet and endearing moments as well as the arrogant lust filled moments when our Marquess can't keep his emotions to himself as dictated by his honor. The romance was wonderful, Only Scandal Will Do is a great addition to historical romance genre! Highly recommended!

Seduce Me
by Jenna Jaxon

I think the topic of seduction and history is fascinating, because people have been seducing each other since before recorded time.  We find great seducers and seductresses in ancient civilizations ( Cleopatra ) and pretty consistently up through history ( Casanova, Catherine the Great, Lord Byron ), into today’s society. But what is it about seduction and remote historical periods gives rise to great romantic novels?

My first thought is that seduction in general appeals to the rebel in all of us.  We know who the bad boys and girls are from their reputations.  We ought to stay away, we really should.  But we can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be pursued and to succumb to the charms of our seducer.  Because, deep down, we want to rebel and be bad.  It’s exciting to have caught the attention of someone with a reputation and we want to experience that thrill ride just once.
Oscar Wild’s quip, “I can resist anything except temptation,” comes readily to mind.

What makes seduction even more appealing in an historical setting is that the stakes are higher.  Today’s society is much more morally lax than even one hundred years ago. We are interested in who’s hooked up, but we rarely think badly of them when we find out.

Go back to the 18th and 19th centuries, and you find there were dire consequences for such misbehavior.  Women’s reputations could be ruined simply by being seen talking alone with a known rake.  And reputation was everything during those periods.  If a woman lost her reputation, it had an impact not just on her, but on her family as well.  Remember Pride and Prejudice?  Lydia’s misconduct threatens the futures of all her sisters.

So the trope of the ‘bad boy” trying to charm a virtuous woman into his bed in an historical romance has more tension, more urgency to it because the magnitude of the possible loss for the woman is extraordinary.  And as most readers identify with the heroine, there is then more for them to lose, vicariously, as well.

In my novel, Only Scandal Will Do, my hero is quite an accomplished womanizer and seducer.  He’s able to skillfully manipulate the distraught heroine into believing he’s a caring protector who will try and save her from the dire circumstances that threaten her reputation.  Charm, charisma, and magnetism are several traits that these seductive characters possess.  They have a silver tongue, great intelligence and wit and use it unashamedly to their advantage.  And as much as we fear for the heroine’s virtue, we do love to see these men operate.

Perhaps my favorite “smooth operator” in an historical ( other than my own wonderful rake ), is Valmont in Dangerous Liaisons.  Played to perfection in the movie by John Malkovich, he is the epitome of the heartless, but supremely skilful seducer.

Seduction throughout history has been a game of cat and mouse, the mouse most often getting the worst end of the deal.  But we, as readers, love the chase, love the thrill of the hunt when the stakes are high.  With the result that historical romance and seduction are intimate bedfellows.  But that’s the point, then, isn’t it?

BOOKS FOR BUNNIES - BUNNY CHARITY & GIVEAWAY

Books for Bunnies

Books for bunny’s is an event set up by the blogger over at The Bunny’s Review and coordinated with the help of blogger Alchemy of Scrawl.

These two ladies have worked tirelessly in getting authors to donate eBooks’ for the event.   Currently there are over 100 eBooks that have been donated. Along with over 30 print books donated.  Some of the print books are even signed by the author’s themselves.

The event is to help raise money for the House Rabbit Society.  The House Rabbit Society, or HRS, is a 501 non-profit organization to help raise awareness and to rescue rabbits from animal shelters. Below is a little about the background of the HRS.

House Rabbit Society Background

House Rabbit Society is a national, nonprofit animal welfare organization based in Richmond, California. Our mission has two parts:

•  Through our fostering program, volunteers rescue abandoned rabbits and find permanent adoptive homes for them.
•  Through education, we seek to reduce the number of unwanted rabbits — and to improve bunnies' lives — by helping people better understand these often misunderstood companion animals.

In line with our mission, we are against the exploitation of rabbits.
Since HRS was founded in 1988, over 25,000 rabbits have been rescued through our foster homes across the United States. Many of these bunnies had run out of time at animal shelters and were scheduled for euthanasia; others had been deemed "unadoptable" because of age, health, or disposition. Because there is no time limit on our rescued rabbits, HRS foster parents are able to spend time getting to know each individual bunny and can then match him or her with an appropriate home. We neuter/spay all incoming rabbits, obtain any necessary veterinary care, and attend to their social needs.
In caring for so many diverse bunnies, our all-volunteer organization has learned a tremendous amount about their social, behavioral, and medical requirements. By sharing the collected information these rabbits have taught us, we are able to help other people improve their relationships with their rabbits. HRS provides educational materials to veterinarians and humane societies and helps individual rabbit people solve behavior and health problems, primarily through our web site, www.rabbit.org, and our quarterly publication, House Rabbit Journal.
Over the past 20 years, HRS has grown from 300 to more than 8,000 members, with local chapters and educators in over 30 states plus Canada, Italy, Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore. Our web site, www.rabbit.org, is accessed over 100,000 times a day by people in dozens of countries around the world.

We are asking people to donate money to the HRS at this link through Network for Good. The person that makes a donation will receive either an e-book or print book equal to the amount donated.

There are books ranging in price from $0.99 to $27.00.  There are several print copies of the books that have been autographed by the author.

The person that donates will receive an email thanking them for donating.  That email needs to be forwarded to books4bunnys@bunnysreview.com. This will show the amount that has been donated. Please remember there is not any donation that is too small. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. The HRS will use the money to either help pay for vet bills or help in finding a forever home for the hundreds of bunnies in their care.

Please if possible take a moment to donate a couple of dollars to the HRS you never know what bunnies life you might be saving.

Ellie's only defense against this very attractive guy is to insist they're friends only — strictly no benefits! But Ruben isn't a successful businessman for nothing—they'll be good together, and he's happy to play dirty to get what he wants.…" ~From Goodreads

The smile said it all and those gorgeously curved lips arrowed in on hers. The touch was firm – but not totally dominant as she’d expected. No, he held back for all of a second or two. But then his hand cupped her head, angling her slightly better to meet his as his lips plundered hers. And in another instant she plundered right back – seeking more of that strong touch, that deliciousness – the full impact of his utter masculinity. The shivers skittered down her spine, the knots coiled tighter and tighter in her belly already. His tongue swept – playful, insistent, driving. How could so much could be said with a kiss?
She had no idea why she was gripping the steering wheel so tightly, or why she had her foot pushed so hard on the brake. The car engine wasn’t even running. But she just knew she was in danger.
He stepped back. Her gaze was glued to him – to the fit, taut body and the smile that held as much rue as it did tease now. His big eyes burned right through hers.
“My regret...” he nodded slowly. “...was not kissing you. Of course now I regret not kissing you sooner.”
Breathless, she put her hand on his wrist, seeking one last touch of skin. “Thank you for being so nice to me.”
His gaze narrowed. “I’m not as nice as all that Ellie.” His voice dropped so she leaned forward in her seat, nearer to hear him. “You need to know something about me.”
She waited, lungs not breathing, heart not beating.
“I’m man enough to take no for an answer,” he said. “But I’m also man enough to fight for what I want.”
Eyes not blinking, she had to ask. “What do you want?”
“You again. Every way. Any way.”

Waking Up In The Wrong Bed was a contemporary romance with the twist of sex in the beginning, and then takes a good amount of the book of denial, snarky comments and seduction before it's given ago again. But I loved the concept! Ellie's oopsie of seducing the wrong man in dark hotel room instead of her flirty co-worker turns into a great story of sexual tension, few chosen words, lust and seduction!

Ellie's recent turn to confident woman is fun to read, she's determined not to repeat past weaknesses and live her life to the fullest, including a champagne induced chateau seduction ( of the wrong guy type ), new job and not falling for hot guys with short term plans ( the aforementioned wrong guy ). Ellie is an entertaining heroine with serious denial issue, bad case of hots for a wrong kind of Frenchman and her work cut out for her when the Frenchman decides to seduce her at any cost.

Ruben of course was hot from the beginning, fit, muscled, determined with one sexy grin - and in male perspective if you woke up with a hot woman in your hotel room seducing you in the middle of the night to some action you wouldn't say no - and neither did he. The thing is he wasn't exactly likable as his focus was only on bedding Ellie, being dead set against any relationship that would hinder his business, which was any relationship. Of course you warm up to him when his thoughts begin to undermined his words.

If you are looking for a seductive, will-they-won't-they kinda contemporary romance then Waking Up In The Wrong Bed is for you!

Oh and don't miss Natalie Anderson's Guest Blog Starting With A Sizzle below on what happens when couples get it on in the beginning of the book!

Rating :

Starting with Sizzle
- but not letting the fire go out!!!

Of the twenty books I've written for Harlequin Mills & Boon, WAKING UP IN THE WRONG BED is the first to start straight into a sex scene. Yes, I do tend to write 'hotter' books and my characters are often getting it 'on' within the few half of the book at least - but the first scene in the first chapter?!
It was a great challenge and, frankly, a lot of fun! There were a number of challenges to work out - why is she sneaking into bed with a guy, how can she not know it’s the one she intended to be with, why does he let it happen… but in some ways the even bigger challenge is how you handle what happens after.
It's often stated in romance writing texts, that once the characters have gotten it on, you’ve lost the sexual tension - that delicious 'will they/won’t they/when will they…'. Once they do it, all that anticipation is released - and lost.
            But is it?
One of the keys to keeping a reader engrossed in a story is to maintain conflict, tension and complication. I would argue that when a couple has sex, everything gets more complicated. So for a couple to have had sex right at the start of their relationship? Well, then it’s already very complicated!!! And then you have so many delicious questions raised again - like WHEN are they going to get it back on? Are they going to agree to a continuing fling, or are they going to physically cool it completely? ( Or try to ). What are the other ramifications of their night together - is it going to affect their work? Or other relationships?
So there can be a ton of conflict and complication right there.
And then there’s the sexual tension aspect as well. I love sexual tension - desire that a character may, for whatever reason, be trying to temper. So you can actually start them again almost fro the beginning and rebuild that tension - and doesn’t it make it even sharper now, given they know how good they are together?
And one of the fun things I like to do in my stories is show how the couple’s relationship is developing and changing through their sex life - how what they say to each other, or how they hold each other ( literally ) can reflect the growing feelings they may have for each other and at what stage they’re at. So what happens when they get it on again for the first time after that crazy night?
To my mind, starting with sizzle definitely has some challenges but it totally can work - and make for an entertaining read. What do you think?

Ella has lost it all, her parents, her husband- cheating bastard - and her brother, releasing his ashes into the sea while on board their sailing boat True Blue a storm hits, even while a great sailor she can't fight the storm and as she hits the frigid water her world goes black and she believes this is it.

Zephyros, the God of the West Wind, is storming about his nephew's happiness, while he never has had any, only betrayal and disappointment, but just before it's too late he realizes his actions have but an innocent near death and he barely saves the woman from his storm.

Deeply regretful of his carelessness he sees her to shore, but can't bring himself to leave before he sees she's making a recovery, but the woman keeps him coming back again and again until he makes the mistake of materializing at the wrong time and getting an earful from Ella. But as they begin to get to know each other and as Zeph feels the need to heal the injuries his storm caused it dawns to Ella that Zeph is more than just a stalker - and there is more to the world than she ever thought.

But with Eurus, Zeph's estranged brother and ruler of the East Wind, dead set on breaking any happiness Zeph has Ella isn't safe, but even if Zeph can protect her against his brother's maliciousness can he protect her from his own fears of betrayal that's branded on his soul.

"God I need more of you." He kissed up the other side of her neck, dragging his weight over her in the most maddeningly delicious way. She drew her knees up, adjusting him so he fell closer to where she needed him.
"Ella," he groaned and traced the shell of her ear with his tongue. "What do you want? This time you tell me. I don't want to make any mistakes here, and I"-he swallowed thickly-"I can't...I have to..."
She whimpered. Heart, body and mind aligned she didn't need to think about it. "In me. Need you in me." His weight disappeared. Then so did she. For a split second, he physical self seemed to vanish. And then they were on the bed in her room.
Dazed and awed, she laughed. "What just happened?" Heavy-lidded eyes traced over her face. "I don't have the patience to act human right now."

Oh ever since reading North of Need I've been so patiently waiting for Laura Kaye's next Hearts of Anemoi book - because I fell in love with North of Need and the way Kaye tells stories, they are happy but emotional, romantic and so sexy!

Kaye has a talent with words and creating with them a believable world with sexy well built gods and women who catch their eyes - and that ladies makes West of Want such a great romance! I could go on and on how well written West of Want is, how engaging the story is and how you are so invested it hurts when our couple goes through a rough patch - but I have to get on with the review and get to gushing about how hot Zeph is. ;)

I loved the story in West of Want, Ella's broken heart, Zeph's slowly emerging hope for future and Eurus's menacing presence through out the book. The Ancient Greek history bits were intriguing and I loved how Kaye wrapped them all in there in subtle way, and I loved all the coincidents trying to tell Zeph she was perfect for her.

I've said "loved" like four times now but bare with me because there will be more. ;)

Sometimes when you write a character like Ella who has gone through so much heartbreak and sorrow they can become downers - but not Ella, she still has that spark of life, that kindness and she fights for reasons to live and have a good life even with her parents and her brother dead and her ex-husbands cheating still a fresh cut. You can't help but love Ella and her M&M addiction.

Zeph, oh what to say about this guy... oh I know, Hot! Want me to elaborate? Okay here goes. Take one moody Supreme God of the West Wind who's been betrayed hundred times over, with a wicked hot body, and give him family issue big enough to sink titanic and then just watch what happens when he begins to fall for our heroine. You can help but fall in love as well, especially when the Supreme God gets his first taste of M&Ms. The depth he has and the way he feels for Ella hooks any romance reader to this story.

The romance between Ella and Zeph has to be one of my favorites, it's right up there with Megan and Owen ( who does make an appearance! ) from North of Need and Rhage and Mary from Lover Eternal to name a few. Like with all my faves there has to be love, emotional hook, heartbreak and healing - and there must be hot love scenes... so welcome to West of Want to that crowd!

It's no wonder people went crazy for this series, once you get a taste of Hearts of Anemoi you can't let go... and like many ladies I too cannot wait for South of Surrender to come out in 2013!

West of Want isn't a stand alone, read North of Need first, trust me it's just as good and you'll love Megan and Owen too, see my 5 star review of North of Need. Here is a NoN teaser:

"A deep sound of satisfaction rumbled low in his throat and ricocheted down her body. Those soft lips found hers, already open, waiting for his touch. With his kiss, he possessed her. His scent—winter spice and male—filled her senses. His body covered her. She could live on the cool, sweet taste of his tongue. And, God, his little moans and grunts reverberated right down to the wet heat between her legs.

He trailed open-mouthed kisses over her cheek to her ear, sucked her lobe between his lips and flicked it with his tongue. She gasped as goose bumps erupted everywhere and she offered her neck to his exploration.

“I want you, Megan. Be mine. Gods.”
