Carnal Magnetism is the second book in the Cornwall Coven series, even though a book two it's a pretty easy stand alone as well - with the first book characters heavily featured too I would still recommend reading Deadly Fetish first, just to be on the safe side. McLeod's writing continues to be very entertaining and sizzling - Carnal Magnetism is a great addition to paranormal erotic romance genre, it's over 500 pages of yummy!
The plot was a hot one, a pure blood vampiress with a pretty hefty power of sexual persuasion messing up a our poor playboy hero quite thoroughly. And that ladies is so very hot! I have always loved the dangerous ex plots, gives the current hero a real chance to save the lady from and over zealous admirer - after all what's hotter than a guy protecting you against unwanted advances? Of course much more than that is going in Carnal Magnetism, but I can't say much more without giving the plot up - and I wouldn't do that you. ;)
I couldn't help but crush on Ryder a little, he really is an arrogant/cocky playboy who can willingly bring any woman to her knees ( minds off the gutter girls! - though that did happen too ) - but the absolute best part about our hunky hero was his complete lack of smooth charm when it came to Cat, I loved seeing him indecisive and fumbling when she was concerned, priceless! I can't say I was a big fan of Cat ( aka Catalyn, you know have problems with "not-names" so bare with me stating this ) she was part innocent part sex addict of sorts and those two just didn't mesh at all for me, had she been more of a tighter package with a more singular nature I bet she would have been more relatable to me. But in the story that only bothered me one star worth.
This is book for paranormal erotic romance fans! Don't miss on getting to know Ryder!
