INTERVIEW WITH HEATHER BOYD "ENGAGING THE ENEMY"

Niina : Welcome to For The Love of Reading, Heather Boyd author of Engaging The Enemy, I’m glad you could make it!

Heather Boyd : Hello, Niina. Thanks for having me on your blog today.

Niina : Let’s get started! Can you tell my readers here 4 fun unknown facts about you so we can break the ice?

Heather : I’m obsessed with the TV show Sherlock Holmes, I love the sound of rain on a tin roof, I may have followed a stranger down the street just because he was smoking a pipe, and I play Smurfs on my iPad.

Niina : Tell us little about your book Engaging The Enemy, what’s it about?

Heather : Engaging the Enemy is the first book in my new regency series, The Wild Randalls. The series is about three brothers, and one hot-headed sister, torn apart by the machinations of their own family and the lengths they will go to find each other and their place in society again. Engaging the Enemy is Leopold Randall’s story as he returns to Romsey Abbey, home of his young cousin, the Duke of Romsey, in search of information. But nothing at Romsey is as he expects and his whole life is turned upside down by what he discovers there.

Niina : Which character in your book became your favorite?

Heather : I don’t really have a favorite character in any story. They are all special to me.

Niina : How do you write, chapter here and there or follow from beginning to an end?

Heather : Generally I write from start to finish as quickly as I can, then I go back and fix up all my slips and any inconsistencies.

Niina : If you could only read 3 Historical Romance books for the rest of your life what would they be, and why?

Heather : Devil in Winter, Slightly Dangerous, and Sin and Sensibility. I love each of the heroes. So many funny moments.

Niina : What makes for a great hero?

Heather : A sense of humor, a personal code of conduct he strives to live by, and someone who has a capacity to love.

Niina : Now to more personal questions! Who are some of your favorite authors?

Heather : Terrible question. We could be here forever. Lol. I read a lot of authors, debut authors, too. Samantha Grace, Laurel Bennett, Lydia Dare, Jess Dee, Mary Balogh, Donna Cummings, Lisa Kleypas, Suzanne Enoch … I probably should stop because there’s over 500 romances on my bookshelves. LOL

Niina : What is your favorite guilty treat?

Heather : Wait. Is there supposed to be guilt involved with treats? LOL Chocolate is my treat of choice. Lindt Chocolate particularly.

Niina : What do you think makes a story sexy?

Heather : Good writing.

Niina : What’s the sexiest article of clothing on a guy?
